What to Say?
By: Cesar | September 14th, 2008
In the interests of not breaking my blogging streak, up comes this post.
But in all honesty, I haven’t a thing to say.
Amunt Valencia?!?
Today, it’s away to Almeria, Unai ‘Dances with Wolves’ Emery’s former squad.
It’s important for two reasons. Well, three.
One, it’s a league game. So it’s important by that nature.
Two, it’s the second game of the season. Let’s get off to a good start, eh?
Three, with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid slipping up, a unique opportunity has been presented us.
Win and we move 4 points clear of Barca, 3 of Atletico. Not much, you say. I agree.
But it’s better than being 4 behind this early in the season. So let’s take advantage of what’s presented us, eh?
Besides that, big American football match for my club, the New York Jets … but that’s neither here nor there. Let’s just say my team is like the Levante of the league, we’re playing the Darth Vader of the league (Real Madrid of the league?) and I’d love a victory.
AMUNT Valencia!! This is undoubtedly a match Valencia CF should win …

Guys & girls,
a good link for live matches:
http://www.rojadirecta.org/You need to DL & install some applications (SopCast, TVUPlayer, Tvants…). Go to “English help”, everything is explained. Then click on the selected match, choose application… It’s really easy.
If no one else transmits an “obscure” match like Almeria:VCF then a Chinese channel will so for sure.

Not bad. Poor attack, but the defense looked pretty strong tonight, which is a good thing.
One player who I was not happy with (at all) was Brito. I think Timo would’ve been better. I don’t think he did well at all.
Alexis was brilliant. Villa was okay, and Morientes was fine too. I think we miss Silva…
An okay match at the end.Posted from

I don’t think Alexis was brilliant at all. Albiol played well, and barring his two moments of folly, Renan was a pretty good pair of gloves, little he could do about either goal.

Im not sure if anyone else knows this but you could also go to http://www.myp2p.eu/
Not only it shows Live liga matches but a lot of other sports matches too but rojadirecta is not that bad either. Sometimes, u dont really have to dl or install any applications.
I think a 2-2 was a fair result.

It wasnt a bad match and if this was last year under Koeman or Flores we would have lost by at least two goals. Having said that I still think Emery has a huge task on his shoulders. He certainly has improved our defending from last year but there is still work to be done, particularly when it comes to the final two passes. The only clear mistake he made was not starting with Morientes (or Zigic) from the beginning of the match.
I am just glad we got something out of this match from a very tight and compact team that still plays with the tactics of Emery.Posted from

we were just watching the game on the 1st half.. i guess Emery should know how to motivate his team from the start..
one thing more, we saw LOTS AND LOTS of missed passes and LOTS of stupid touches on the ball… Moretti, though i love you,, but you’re turning into an old lady now.. you cant run, you cant cross.. you can nothing!
thats it…
a bit disappointed i am now..Posted from

Hopefully, we’ll do better next week.

Renan’s erratic goalkeeping almost cost Valencia that match, the first goal he didn’t hold the ball and then he lost sight of the ball and then dived in the wrong direction, the second goal was worse Renan simply did jump high enough and jumped in the wrong direction for a header that he had enough time fore an easy save. Renan had serious problems keeping his eyes on the ball this match. and i still cant figure out why near the end of thew match he ran out to the edge of the box could hold the ball and then was left stranded with Almeria in posession of the ball, that stupid decision almost cost Valencia the match its a good thing that the defenders cut the play out before Almeria could capitalize. after that match it should now be clear that Timo is still Valencia’s best goalkeeper and that Renan is still a couple of years away from being starting material.

in the first half Valencia’s attack didnt flow because of Emery’s putting Joaquin on the left wing and Mata in the middle neither of the two of them ever looked comfortable and Valencia’s offense became lopsided to the right side. In the second half with the subs and Joaquin returning to right Valencia’s offense began to work much better which allowed them to dominate possession. Emery may have to fiddle with the formation again for the Uefa cup match.

Agreed. Joaquin and Mata seemed to be out of play playing in those possitons. I understand the reasoning but i think it backfired. Miguel joaquin work well on the right.
That said the main flaw i saw was the passing game past midfield. Too many balls given away carelessly. That has to be worked on.

i thnk pablo hernandes is not doing well, he seems to do a lot of running but he simple doesnt use his brain… juaquin fed villa with some great passes… morretti sucked! so did edu and morientes! i think emery should have brohgt zigic and angulo rather than morientes, cuz zigic is tall, so at least 2 defenders would be marking him- which gives space for villa to work his majic! but morientes easy man to man could isolate him from the ball due to the fact tht he is not running!

Hi.
I live in “Iran” and I love valencia.
I suggest the following list of players:
- Oier Olazabal (Barcelona)
- Josip Tadić (Dinamo Zagreb)
- Edison Cavani (Palermo)
- Ivan Rakitić (Schalke)
- Anthony Vanden Borre (Genoa)
- Gabriele Francesco Sanci (Juve)
- Philippe Mexès (A. S. Roma)
- Ibrahim Afellay (PSV Eindhoven)Posted from

3 positions in January..
Morretti, Alexis, and a striker…the problem was that Villa was isolated because no one was taking the defense away from him ( who was Silva ) . so Clearly, Emery should start with Moro or Zigic near Villa next game because this what worked in the 2nd half..

Villa was definitely too isolated up front, if he were up front with someone like Milito, I think it would have ended up differently
