Unibet are actually registered in Malta, not Switzerland, have their roots in the UK, and are particularly strong in the Nordic countries.

But they are best known for a kit controversy regarding their cycling team, who were barred from wearing their sponsored kits in the Tour de France by French authorities seeking to enforce the French government's monopoly on sports betting (through Francais des Jeux, which just happened to sponsor another team in the race, and PMU, which just happens to sponsor the green points jersey).

All of which lead to Unibet coming up with this very clever response to the ban (which got them infinitely more publicity than the regular shirts ever would).

The VALENCIA EXPERIENCE is a beautiful shirt sponsor. rarely do you see a sponsor that has to do with the team. This one is perfect. I think we all agree that shirt sponsors are mostly lame. Unibet sounds as bad as any other one. Thanks for all the info, hopefully Unibet will fall short with the money and we will retain Valencia Experience. I am getting the current, timeless kit, for it reminds me of my time there, and is a better looking kit than any other in the world

Vicente was left out of the squad for the game against Almeria i guess his injury was worse than expected. Maduro and Zigic are back in the squad as well as Timo. I like Valencia's new strategy of trying to sign young Brazilian players, Brazil produces more quality young players than any other country in South America but most of them end up playing in Portugal where they deo well but don't get the exposure and experience of playing in a big league like La Liga. If Valencia could lure a few to the Mestalla it may allow Valencia to compensate for their current lack of spending power and bring in good players on the cheap. apparently this whole Valencia experience thing is the result of a blunder by Morera and Wollstein , apparently when Wollestein came up with the idea of having them sponsor Valencia the other directs said dont do it and that they didnt know who Valencia experience was or if they could pay 6 million euros but Morera sided with Wollstein and the deal was signed and now the current administration has to deal with their mess.

But the valencia experience logo is quite nice looking and clean. Maybe I should get my shirt before they change it... Some betting site as a sponsor is just lame.

Ran into my old football coach in the mall today, the first thing he said when he saw me was "Valencia!" In his years of coaching I still stand out as the odd man supporting Valencia.
