If Manuel Fernandz left to Everton and was really unlucky by nature, then that's a nice scenario; both Valencia and Everton will sack their coaches, and Koeman will go coach Everton. :D

I hope you guys are right about Banega. I've only seen Boca play a few times though so I'm definitely in no position to judge Banega off seeing a few matches on the television. Gago was a world beater at Boca but every time I see him play for Madrid he's making bad/errant passes and generally playing pretty lacklustre. Let's hope Banega can make the transition much easier.

Happy New Year all Valencianistas around the world!!!!

Banega is a good buy for Valencia and he's more of a DM like Nolan suggested. Quite good defensively, good passing with room to improve. He's short but he's more stocky built than Aimar. He can handle hard tackle. And very cool head for a 19 year old. I saw him in almost every matches with Boca all through year 2007. He impressed me a lot and agree with Nolan again that he made Boca fans forget Gago in a very short while. Got a couple red cards from reckless fouls he made but seem to learn from his mistakes.

I'm a bit disappointed that he won't be playing alongside Riquelme (again) because Ever can still learn a lot from the Maestro (maybe one more season with Boca). Anyway, I'm happy he moved to Valencia, my other favorite team. If he's given the chance and stay on the right track (on and off the pitch, don't forget he's still a teen). He will be great for Valencia and Argentina.

As for Albelda, I'm with him all the way. I love Valencia and I also love what he done for the club in his hay days. He's a true Valencianista. And if the new manager won't let him play and the club won't let him go. He should go find a manager and a club that appreciate him by any means. Good luck el capitan. No booing from me if you should come back to score against us in the future.

I think Banega is much more defensively able than Pirlo, I think a Banega/Sunny partnership has serious potential.

Banega is a great player but I think he needs "protection" similar to the kind Pirlo receives from Gattuso and Ambrosini. I believe he could easily be marked or muscled out of a game. It's a shame that Albelda was treated like shit (to put it lightly) recently b/c he's exactly the kind of player that Banega needs to pair with him in the midfield. Now we have to look elsewhere for a defensive midfielder and there really aren't too many good ones out there on the cheap. Perhaps we can lure Mavuba across town to the Mestalla.

Zigic needs to start in my opinion. If we are going to play with quick wingers and attacking midfielders, Zigic gives us that other option that will keep teams on their toes when playing us. Morientes is ready to retire to Marbella, he's useless on the pitch. Koeman you better start Zigic!

Banega is great, but I want to see if all the talk about Huntelaar turns out to be true. You never know, maybe a month from now we could be 6 or 7 wins on the trot with a Banega - Van der Vaart midfield, linking up with Villa and Huntelaar up front, Zigic coming on in the 2nd half to score a super sub goal... Hey it could happen, optimism for 2008! Amunt!

Banega would be a major coup, everything Madrid's Gago was supposed to be (Considering Banega made Boca Junior fans forget who Gago was at an even younger age, not bad), and with interest from both Juventus and Chelsea, if you manage to pull this buy off it could be just the statement Valencia needs to make to show the world you still are up to competing with the big boys.
