Welcome, Dag Alexander Olsen

By: Cesar | December 29th, 2008

So who is Dag Alexander Olsen?

I’m not sure. But here’s what I can gather from my (hopefully) new Facebook friend.

According to the ever-so-wonderful Goal.com (hey, it’s a New Year in a few hours … might as well give them another chance. Eh? Oh … ), Dag’s being signed by Our Beloved from Tottenham Hotspur.

He’s been at Spurs for two years after being chased by the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. The 19-year old hadn’t kicked a ball with the first team. So, he’s coming to us.

His dad told a Norwegian newspaper, “His contract with Tottenham expires in the summer and, when Valencia came with an offer for four-and-a-half years, the decision was easy.

“The most important thing for us is that the clubs reached an agreement.

“Valencia have shown interest ever since Alex signed for Tottenham and he has now taken that step.

“He has learned a lot at the academy and developed well, but when new managers come in … a few times, it might be the worst possible thing for a young foreign player.”

That is true.

So let’s welcome young Mr. Olsen with open arms. And hopefully he’ll become all of our FB friends and maybe even be the first Valencia player to comment on the blog?? (Or has a Valencia player already commented on the blog?? Things that make you go HMMM …)

Two more bits of news today:

1 – You think the rumors of David Villa signing with FC Barcelona are funny? (The links are gone now, but check out the last blog post’s comments.) Check this out …

Apparently, AC Milan want Ivan Helguera …

Now, after you’ve picked yourself up off the floor from laughing and hoo-ha-ing … is this story for real?

And if it is, how far have the mighty fallen? Yikes …

2 – Juventus fans are demanding the club buy David Silva …

How many times do I have to say this??

WE’RE NOT SELLING DAVID VILLA …

WE’RE NOT SELLING DAVID SILVA …

ENOUGH WITH THESE STUPID F**KIN’ RUMORS ALREADY …

Got that?

Welcome, Mr. Olsen. We’re a cool bunch, I swear …

yeah that JD guy is no longer here.I wonder why he disappeared.I guess this finishes our transfer?I mean we got two defenders in Carleto and Dealbert plus this striker so I think our transfer is finished!

Unless of course we see something else.

Dont forget people, this guy is not playing with out senior team yet i think, so we for now have him for Valencia B. We just make it really big news, and who knows (and I hope) he will be a big star once but no Spanish paper writes a thing about Olsen, so it seems to me it doesnt seem to be a big deal to them.

    @ siva
His father works in different countries all the time, thats why he moves a lot and therefor changes team all the time. Same with us…

Instead of signing that guy from Tottenham; we should have moved some of our sub12 Valencia players to the senior team; j/k… I was able to catch some of the maspalomas 2008 matches and I must say I was impressed, even thou we got the 3rd place…. Did anybody watched the tournament?

another gem from goal dot com, this time in their genius “who valencia should buy” column: “Villa will inevitably move, but whether it occurs now or in the summer is anyone’s guess.” what? get it through your thick real madrid loving, valencia hating skull: we’re not selling el guaje!!!!

I just read the article about who should Valencia buy and I think the only thing that guy suggested is Sergio Asenjo (Valladolid). But are we even thinking of that? I don’t think so.

Why is everyone wasting time on commenting stupid transfer rumours?
Barca buying Silva? Well, maybe in July ‘09 when he can actually play for them … Learn your fucking homework, Goal.com
Let’s have a nice holiday, everyone.

My wish for ‘09: that no one mentions Goal.com anymore…

i think this last guy will not be playing for the first team…not at the moment, although i hope he has good luck for valencia really needs a striker to match villa. rumours are pointing 70m euros buy from an english team(probably man.c). reason is valencia could not sell the old stadium and need urgent cash.check this website to follow online the construction of the best football stadium worldwide!!!!www.futuroemstalla.com

The only good thing about that goal.com article is that they recommend we move for Asenjo. The guy is simply the best young goalkeeper in the Spanish league. Im pretty sure he would be as good as Casillas in a few more years. If im not mistaken I think his contract ends soon with Valladolid and he would definitely move to a big club if we dont snatch him. He is miles better than Renan.

I’m rather declined to the oppinion that youngsters like Olsen and guys from 2-nd division, like Delabert when they come to a first class team play with much more motivation than expencive stars with too self confidence. That’s why I think thay may succeed in our team!

What about facundo parra from larisa fc?he is 23y old international with argentina young teams.he plays in the wings because we have zurawski at the top,but if he plays next to villa inside the area he would be perfect.great jumping, dribbling, strength, every year he is getting quicker and i would describe him a ‘dog’ as he runs all over the pitch for the whole match

@ Alex : Yeah I read the article too about Ponzo. I also hear from another website that he is 30! I cant seem to find his real age but I really hope he isnt 30…

I mean either we get someone young or promising (like Asenjo) or someone older who has loads of experience (definitely not Ponzo who hasnt played 1st division football before).

anybody else gettin the shakes – not the ones associated with alcoholism, hmm, hmm, Johnnie Walker – due to a lack of la liga football? this break has been agonizing in that sense, can’t wait to see our boys in action again.
