War
By: Cesar | July 7th, 2009Vicente Soriano wants to fix the problems at Valencia CF.
He has an investor – or so we think.
Inversiones Dalport SA exists. On paper, at least.
He said Inversiones Dalport SA wants to invest €500m in the club. To buy the old Mestalla. To be the guiding hand of the team.
A scour of the web reveals little about the investor (see below). Soriano’s press conference yesterday was more an exercise in vagueness than revealing in any way.
So what now?
It looks like Soriano is going to have to gear up for a war.
According to Las Provincias, VCF’s board of directors, headed by Manuel Llorente, are looking for an investor to buy a large packet of shares at tomorrow’s supposed capital increase/share sale meeting … which Soriano said wasn’t needed anymore.
Confused? I’ve been confused since Juan Soler came on board.
The capital increase will go on as planned. Although Llorente received the notarized note from Soriano indicating the intent of purchase by Dalport, the sale can’t be stopped now.
And I believe Llorente’s incentive to keep the sale going is evident now – the board is trying to counter Soriano’s bold move by presenting their own counter attack.
Smart? I think so … Soriano didn’t reveal much yesterday and many are nervous over the details that were brushed over at yesterday’s press conference.
But this means there will probably be a power struggle at the club.
Soriano will have to do more than present papers and say the name of the investor.
He’ll actually have to provide tangible details. And that’s a good thing.
According to Las Provincias, Dalport is originally Uruguayan and has already paid Juan Soler for his shares. They also have dealings with Ford and Bancaja, a Spanish bank.
But here’s where things get fishy.
Here’s a comment from Tristan White, head of the great Che-UK supporter’s club in England.
It does a great job of summarizing the detective work many VCF supporters have been doing since yesterday’s press conference …
According to WHOIS domain tools, http://whois.domaintools.com/inversionesdalport.com (Dalport’s website doesn’t exist) was registered last December by VICTOR BRAVO. address Geranios 11 in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid.
People warn about having lost investments with this company in the past on various discussion forums, such as http://inza.wordpress.com/2007/05/04/como-denunciar-fraudes-estafas-y-delitos-por-internet-2/comment-page-27/#comment-26841
Take money for investments and then disappear etc etc. See on this link various people’s anger dating back to 2007.
This, coupled with the fact that they copied their logo out of a kids’ colouring book (see those other links), makes me feel rather worried.
Also, why are they so elusive? They are apparently Uruguayan originally (though no mentions on the Internet of them prior to the last couple of days). They have close Valencia ties (according to Soriano) but these are unclear. Someone back at the end of June (hence, BEFORE any press release linking Valencia with Dalport) started a discussion forum
http://inversionesdalport.foroactivo.net
(clearly, not created by Dalport)
in which there is just the one post, by Admin, which warns people to be wary of Víctor Vicente Bravo, and goes on to say “and if you don’t believe me, ask Air Comet” – the Madrid based airline that flies to Latin America and which has been suspended by IATA because they have not paid their bills and are facing bankrupcy (many staff have not been paid since January), see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_CometHas the financial problems come from a bad investment the company made with Dalport? Who knows. Certainly, this is what the mysterious “Admin” is suggesting back last June, before Dalport was mentioned as the Valencia investors! So very odd.
So who are Dalport? Some kind of conglomerate of investors. Warnings online of people who invested money and never saw it again. But of course this is speculation and conspiracy theories.
But the thing that worries me most, MORE than any people moaning about lost investments with them, MORE than the fact that someone put up a mysterious post warning about Víctor Vicente Bravo a week before they went public, MORE than the fact they don’t have a website, MORE than another supposedly dodgy company, CRON Developments, is registered at the same address and managed by the same Víctor Bravo, etc etc. is the issue with the logo.
What company, with £500m to spend on buying Mestalla, cannot afford money to pay a logo designer to design an original logo, rather than copying perfectly an eagle from a kid’s colouring book?
It certainly seems odd. I don’t know what will happen next. But whatever statements are made, this logo one will need addressing, as it has made Dalport appear the biggest bunch of amateurs this side of, errm, Valencia Experience.
Let’s hope that our fears are allayed …
Scary stuff, people …
And now, as we go to press …
Victor Vicente Bravo, the head of Dalport, says he’ll give a press conference in Valencia on Thursday, according to reports on Foroche.com.
There, he’ll presumably answer all questions.
Oh, and that logo? He says it’s not theirs. They don’t have one and need to come up with one.
Anyone out there in need of graphic design work?
Stay tuned …

With the kind of interest he has generated in the last few days in his company, he would’ve at least put a lot of ads on those websites if he were smart.

I just saw on television that former Deportivo midfielder and Canadian internatioanl Julian de Guzman is a free agent. Deportivo didn’t resign him. We need a central midfielder. Get rid of Banega, Nacho, and Hugo Viana. Bring in de Guzman, and add him to Fernandes, Baraja, and Albleda. Maybe keep Viana or Nacho as backups. I like de Guzman. Quality player. Great hair…

Just another thing. Mas-contractors.com is registered to one Fodé Diouf of Plethora. Plethora is a supposed Senegalese finance and development company. They have a webpage, although it looks suspiciously like Mas and Dalport.

Some NEWS:
1) The club has received documents on the transfer of share to Dalport SA;
2) They have also received a request to convene a shareholder’s meeting;
3) The Prseident of the Club, Manuel Lorente, will deliver an address at 1 pm today (Spanish time) relating to recent developments at the club. He and the club executives will discuss the scheduled release of new shares as well as the (seemingly legal) transfer of shares. Soriano’s 500 million euro cash injection could be mentioned, too.

@everyone…
Y’all could calm down a little, and slow down on the conspiracy theories. Some of you might be looking a little foolish in the days to come if everything turns out to be legit.

Cant wait till tomorrow, hopefully Soriano will give us some answers how they all get the money, how such shady businesses get to Valencia in the first place! But something tells me he wont make us more wiser than we already are…
Incredible this club…

@ Jiwonsi
Well I wont be bothered to be called the biggest fool around here since i’ve been pretty active AGAINST Soriano! And i invite him to prove me wrong, please by all means show us everything you got and take some bags on money into the press conference to prove the money exists. Than you can all say i was dreaming and how stupid i am, i cant care less, i want Valencia to deal with people who are open, reliable and legal, and proven to be these things. Until Soriano has done any of this, i still remain most sceptical.Posted from

@johnny
I don’t believe in the blue fairy either, but this kind of business seems common in England, with one consortium or another getting linked with Newcastle, Portsmouth, Southampton, etc. Can Dalport possibly beat Shinawatra’s Thai group for shadiness? Not likely, and yet the Thais did control Man City for a year or two.

Hi, this is better than a soap opera JOHNNIE, as you say
the Mas/com is just a page saying ‘welcome’ but that is as far as you get but if you go to the mascontractors.net/ They have there fingers in everything if you search all the sections. I ended up in the ‘Blog’ which was started on Feb 7 20009 click on the one entry and it says ‘thanks buddy’ click on the name
jessicaboore and you are presented with various entries
which look like Russian or similar yet has adverts and instructions like ‘read more’in English. This Bravo guy I would think is either linked to this site or is using the same name and /com. To make out there is a legitimate link, we shall see thursday, or today as Soriano wants to stop the amplification that llorente wants to carry on withPosted from

I have no idea whether the person is basing this on speculation or actually has some knowledge, but thought I’d copy this from a comment on a news piece in Levante today from someone.
For those of you who don’t speak Spanish, this person (who could well be just a fan spreading a conspiracy theory FOR ALL WE KNOW) says that DALPORT is a Ponzi scheme AND a fence for laundering money. I should add here that these are not my words but the words from someone else, I’m just requoting them!
The poster then goes on to explain how such a scheme would work. He/she may be on to something here. One thing we can say for sure: if Dalport and Mr Victor Vicente Bravo didn’t have much of a web presence before, they sure as hell do now!!
——————————
SALUDOS

Rory, good investigations on Fodé Diouf. Indeed, he also has a MAS Contractors email, and if you do a Google search for fode.diouf@ you find:
Managing Director: Mr. Fodé Diouf. E-mail: fode.diouf@mas-contractors.comHe is also listed on the mascontractors.net company:
http://www.mascontractors.net/contact.html
click on the African continentSENEGAL REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE:
MAS CONTRACTORS GROUP AFRICA S.A.R.L.
29, Avenue Pasteur BP 6531 – 11524 -DAKAR – SENEGAL
Managing Director: Mr. Fodé Diouf
Phone: +221 33 889 72 72
Fax: +221 33 842 89 88
Mobile : +221 77 234 39 77
E-mail: cmc.masgroup@gmail.comOdd – every single contact, even the European ones, ALL USE GMAIL as an address. Without exception. Now, I use Gmail, it’s a mighty fine email tool, but why do NONE of these list a different address, such as one ending with mascontractors.net or .com? After all he does apparently have an @mas-contractors.com address, according to the other source.
Out of interest, on the map, I clicked on Europe on that map: all are in Italy, with one in Belgium and one in Malta. So then I used http://www.archive.org which allows you to see a snapshot of a website at it looked in the past. I had a look at what the contacts page looked like on mascontractors.net back in November 2007, just a year and a half ago:
http://web.archive.org/web/20071121173423/www.mascontractors.net/contactus.html
Not only did they have branches in Sweden but the HEAD OFFICE and registered address was not the Italian one given now but one in Dublin, Ireland, which now appears to have gone. This was, furthermore, the only one to show a mascontractors.net email address, info@mascontractors.net – all the other branches needed to use Gmail.
So what happened to Mas Contractors,
48, Upper Drumcondra Road – 9, Dublin – Ireland
Phone: 00353.1.637 2234
Fax: 00353.1.837 2214Do they have anything to do with
http://www.mccannandassociates.com/
who are shown on the net as having the same address and phone number?Of course, companies come and go, but normally when a company folds, they take their phone number with them. How come this company, same address, keeps the old MAS number?
And if they are the same company, why does McCann and Associates not want to have anything to do with MAS as they did in 2007.
(Bizarrely, there’s another company in Ireland, http://www.mccann.ie/ also calle McCann & Associates, but appears to have nothing to do with the other McCann, as far as I can tell)
Does MAS stand for Mccann & ASsociates?
Whatever or whoever, the address and phone number in Drumcondra is given as MAS’s former registered HQ on that Archive page listed above.
Could McCann be at the top of a large pyramid, and has since distanced themselves, with all these minor companies in smaller countries investing and giving returns to the ones higher up, (dare I say, Ponzi-style?), for it all to go tits-up in the end when they run out of investors and suddenly the company folds while all the upper tiers of the pyramid keep their latest investments?
Who knows. I’m not saying that. But because this DALPONT company is so mysterious, with no previous web presence, and stolen drawings from kids’ colouring-in books as their logo, yet somehow have enough capital in these difficult times to magic up 500 million, you can’t blame the conspiracy theorists.
Personally, I think that Dalpont is the newly appointed Spanish branch of MAS. The people who recruited them are Uruguayans. The people who recruited the Uruguayans are the Senegalese. And all the way back to Italy and, further back still, to Dublin. Dalpont are possibly already recruiting some two-bit company in Tonga to feed the next tier, who in turn will be the saviour of the local cricket team or whatever.
Obviously, pure conjecture on my part
I’m very tempted to ring up that Dublin number and ask for Mas Contractors, but I want to find out more first.
So how did we get to this. Ah, yes, Rory dug up our friend Fodé Diouf, how could we forget? The same Fodé, owner of Plethora, who is on Linked In, that social networking tool that many of us are on to help us find new jobs: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/fod%C3%A9-diouf/4/7b9/635
And, like many of us in these difficult times, he’s listed as being interested in hearing about new job offers.
Ahhh, bless. Things can’t be good on his step on the pyramid. The ladder must be getting shaky. Let’s hope he doesn’t fall and tumble on Valencia CF on his way down…..
