Villa and Silva Back on the Market?
By: Cesar | July 21st, 2008
Just when you think it’s safe to wear your Valencia kit without fear of ridicule comes word that our star players, David Villa, David Silva and Joaquin are back on the transfer market.
So in the span of one week, we went from new CEO Juan Villalonga telling us we’re keeping our stars to owner Juan Soler saying we’re selling …
I ask: What is one to believe?
As a fan, I find this flip-flopping extremely frustrating.
How are we as fans supposed to react? What are we to put our faith in?
Will our stars be here for the new season?
Or will we unload them to the highest bidder?
One week, they’re safe. The next, they’re gone.
Do the people running the club even care about the fans and the hand-wrenching we’re doing over our star players?
The more I pay attention, the less I think they care about what we think.
I know, they’re in deep debt. They’re suffocating on their bills. And taking on extra debt isn’t what’s needed right now.
But do we have to deal with the constant see-sawing?
Just sell the players already and be done with it. Spare us the anxiety of wondering whether we’ll delight in Villa’s goals, Silva’s crosses and Joaquin’s step-overs.
Don’t fill us with hope one day and snatch it away the next.
That’s the way clubs lose fans. I, for one, am getting pretty tired of the constant back-and-forth at this club; the weekly soap opera that is Valencia CF.
Enough already!
Can’t we just play the matches and enjoy the team without all of the drama??

Lord oh Lord will this ever stop?
First we think they’re going. Then Villa says he wants to stay. Then they’re going again. Then Villa says he’ll stay if they play him more. Then they weren’t going. Joaquin assures us that he’ll stay.
And now they’re going again.
I hope they come up with a decision and fast because, yes, this is getting on everybody’s nerves now. It’s torture…
Although I won’t mind all this if at the end of the day the three of them stay. Let’s just hope they do…sigh..Posted from

agreed-this is nonsense. up until a few weeks ago, i had succumb to the fact that villa was leaving this summer. and now that i’ve convinced myself that he’s staying, these reports come out. i can’t take it anymore. i’m addicted to goal.com

it’s almost as if the board is deliberately trying to alienate and annoy the fans.

It could be just talks or it could be true. Anyway, Villalonga should have checked the books before he start saying things like Villa and Silva are untouchable, not for sale bla bla bla. This is ridiculous. I think I’m gonna stop reading football news for a while. At least until the season starts. Then you’ll know exactly who’s in who’s out.
Just when things start to look nice for Valencia fans for once in a long while. I know it might be too good to be true [again?].

I have long stopped following transfer rumours, let me see video of the guy juggling a ball in the new team’s jersey at their stadium. Ronaldinho in an AC Milan jersey, fine. Deco in a Blues shirt, good for him. I ignore all rumours and speculation, regardless of the source

perhaps soler could have some input in our new kit, what about bright orange curly wigs ( its our colour after all ) bright red noses, and harlequin shirts.the team could enter the pitch on small cars with wonky wheels and honky horns.the hymno of valencia is after all better known as the circus song.

Today, Emery took the guys to the beach…
and this was the most creative thing i ever saw in ways of training for a LONG time in our club.. the last memory was rowing in 2002 i guess with Benetiz.. and it wasn’t even in Valencia, was in a preseason in Holland..
this is nice.. in Emery we trust!

Valencia is run like a corporate bussiness and not a football club. The days when owners cried and cheered.. lived and breathed football and ran out on the field during victories are over. Now its valenciacorp. These guys only want profit margins.. thats it. We dont have billionare playboy owners that are in it for the status.. we have guys that think they can squeeze out cash.. they hire corporate managers to deal with jocks and wonder why there is no chemistry.
Im no brain surgeon but .. wait no thats it im no brain surgeon so i stay out of brain surgury regardless how much money one could potencially make there.
We have the ex CEO of telefonica (ironically walked out due to embezzlement rumours) hired to run a soccer team. Ummmm.. was i the only one that said whats he know about futbol? Thats just it he doesnt.. neithre do the owners.. because its not about soccer. its about cash.
It really is sad.. but that why we all feel abandoned. like we arent being listened to. because we really arent. They dont care about he fans.. that is untill the fans stop handing them money.
The fact is that soccer will only become great again when it isnt worth the money. Then we can get the biz men out and the fanatics and playboys back in.
Futbol , Soccer. Call it what you will isnt about the cash. Its about the spirit.. the game.. and the show. It should be for the people by the people.I for one hope those days return, but in todays ultra corporate world those words are like reciting the red manifesto.
Futbol needs a revolution. Its long overdue.Posted from

Javier, BRAVO!!! Great comment …
I feel much like you … just disillusioned with the way football’s become … it’ all about the cash and often not about the fans and the glory …Jabba. There, I said it … for you US baseball fans, I just love Joba Chamberlain … great name …
