I hope David Villa goes to Madrid. They were already talking of the negotiations between Valencia and Madrid for him. Being on a struggling club will not help Villa who is very talented. Even Silva should move out. A club who can get rid of a world class Goalie like Cani, or a dedicated captain like Albelda, is disgraceful. This is obviously a club who doesn’t give a rats ass about their players, and will get rid of anyone else, no matter who they are. I love Valencia C.F., and I’m very upset about how things are being run. If QuiQue wasn’t sacked near the middle of the season, koeman wouldn’t have come, and this never would have happened. Now he’s going to bring some of the players he’s worked with who probably don’t have the caliber of a Canizares or Albelda. What a slap in the face for these veterans who’ve done so much.

Vicente will be tackled out of his ….I don’t know which word to adopt in EPL. He’s not a easy-going person on the pitch so he’ll probably get a lot of red cards.

Anyway, if any of them are transfer listed, I am sure none of them would go to Real. Your boy Calderon can pay 150M and have Villa or the deal is off.

As for DV, he contract runs until like 201*. If he wants to leave, (how can he not) he can always go to Italy.

I don’t see how they can improve dramatically. Everyone at the club is busying helping themselves. Can anyone focus on football?

Yeah the way it was handled was poor, Koeman is a tyrant of a coach and unless they dramatically improve, this is a wasted move.

I’ll have more to say about this when it’s all said and done. But I agree with you, Inara. It’s something that needed to be done, yes. We talked about it months ago.
But to do it this way is SUCH a slap in the face to what Canyete and Albelda have done for this club … they deserved better. Both have been captains, both have sweated and cried for this club, both are monster players and both deserve MUCH better than they’ve gotten from people like Soler and Koeman.
I’m surprised that Soler, a valencianista, can’t understand why the people are mad. Uggh …

I saw the video and got really teary eyed myself.

I thought about this again, and I don’t understand why Koeman can’t simply bench the two guys? Strip their captaincy, whatever? They have every right to retire with the club. It’s like firing a 64 year old guy when he’s a year away from retirement.

Le Guen at PSG is doing something similar in that for a while, he benched most of his senior players, stripped Landreau of the captaincy, and in some cases sent some players to the stands, and he promoted a bunch of youth players. And after a while, the wake up call worked.

I take back what I said about this being a possibly good if bold move. I understand that Koeman wants to change things around, but those changes should be made with class. Valenica might be playing like a pub team, but they aren’t a pub team. It’s a team that reaches into the hearts of over a million people, most of whom hold these departing players in high regard. Events like this will only increase dressing room tensions and may cause Valencia to drop in attractiveness.

I fully expect a couple of them to end up at Liverpool. Albelda, Angulo, and (hopefully) Vicente. The latter two would just be brilliant, but we’ll take any of them. Villa or Silva are just too much to fathom.

Sad, sad times at the Mestalla. We all knew Albelda and Santi needed to go. But not like this. They have been great for the club, but they deserve more respect than this.

However, I’m happy to let Tintin treat Angulo however he sees fit.
