Update: The Trio MAY Return …

By: Cesar | April 21st, 2008

e__archivo_photo_10_1_1_20071026_ypr05f2tif6.jpgAccording to Superdeporte, the ousted trio of Canizares, Albelda and Angulo WILL be available to new coach Voro should he choose to use them … that means we could see the veteran Che legends as soon as this weekend against Osasuna …

What do you think? We certainly could have used them this weekend, especially Santi in place of the injured Timo.

Bob, I hope you are mistaken.

We need our 3 boys back and fast! We gotta stop the bleeding fast. Relegation is looming. Please bring back our boys. They will fight for their place. They got be civil and professional. Yes Cañete, I’m talking about you. But they can lift this team to safety and Intertoto glory. (Sheesh! I never thought I would say that)

bob put in mind im talking about this season whn i talk bout albelda!! i hve seen 90% of the matches!! it aint like the trio are ronaldo, buffon, and jaier zenetti! tht we really need them badly!! i just dnt see thm as players tht can chande a teams performance, i see ngulo as an average player, cani a realy gr8 goalkeeper in the past, now hes below average and albelda he wouldnt even touch the park!! we need performane + names… names without performance is bad!

i think albelda is still a world class playe ali. i accept that angulo was never outstanding but he never never gave up the cause, something most of our current squad do regularly

ive just seen a press conferance where they say that all players are available to the new coach. thing is how are the players that alledgadly stabbed albelda in the back (marchena and baraja ) going to react if albelda is reinstated.

i respect your point of view…. you want albelda back because you think hes a good player, so we would be a better team…. i do not want him back because i think hes a bad player so that he does not effect the teams performance… in the end we share the same aim which is for Valencia to lick his wounds and be the unbeatable team again and to win every cup on this planet! Amunt Valencia!

Sadly, I don’t think Koeman’s axeing will solve much. Now we’ve got NEW problems, like whether the axed trio should return, things like that. Discipline in the squad seems low, and I fear more upheavals in the coming weeks. I support the sacking of Koeman of course, but I am a little bit worried because there are still some poisonous elements in the Valencia board pulling the strings and the problems will not disappear until these people are rooted out.

For all it’s worth, good luck Valencia! Does anybody know how the players are reacting to this?

I think the trio ought to be taken back, even if it’s only for a short period, like until the end of this season. It would at least restore some much-needed stability to the club and appease the players (so, if they end up losing again, they can only blame themselves and work harder to win the next game).

I agree with Ali forget Albelda, before he was dropped he was frustrating me anyway losing possesion and finally he was just too slow, Maduro and Banega are the future but in a panic the new coaching staff will turn to the old guard so we won’t see much of the young guns this season. Then again i don’t care as long as we stay up there is a place for Angulo and possibly Cani as number 2.

I don’t want either three back. Albelda was terrible in the fall and winter – I agree with Conor and Ali. I really don’t want a player who wears the captain’s armband to ask opposition players on the pitch to not run so much. He asked Eto’o this against Barça, how shameful, what a goddamn pesetaro. Besides, Angulo has been replaced by Angulo v2.0, Arizmendi. The only one I’d like back is Cañizares, but that’s because Mora is terrible. Still, the thought of a creaky 38 year old goalkeeper who hasn’t played a competitive match in 4 months is less than inspiring.

I’d like to see Banega play more – the chief reason he has been, or rather was disciplined by Koeman, was that he liked the nightlife, a no-no in Koeman’s book. He’s a wonderful talent who needs to grow up a bit. Also, please keep that terrible excuse of a centre-back Helguera off the pitch. Do these two things and Valencia should stay up, or at least I hope.

    Amunt!?

In my oppinion Canizares is the most experienced, Albelda is the leadre and Angulo is the most hard-working man in the team. I want all tem on the bench and I think they (or some of them ) will find their place in starting 11!

Well debating aside according to Goal.com they are back and Voro is willing to pick them, im only hoping if Cani plays he is not too rusty and i agree Mora is terrible, we signed him from Levante on a free right? Hopefully the Mestalla will be rocking for the Osasuna game because we must win can’t see us beating Barca and the following game againest Zaragoza will be difficult because there is always danger with Milito and Olivera up-front. Next season if were in the Primera im going to fly over to as many games as possible because im convinced we will be a force again. Hopefully Villa doesn’t have the best Euro 2008 and stays. (Rather wearily) AMUNT VALENCIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Albelda back in the squad is great news.. His dip in performance early this season aside, do you’ll not realize how poorly we’ve played without him in the team historically? We barely won a single game when he was injured for months last season, just as we have this season. Albelda is no Zidane.. he is no Figo, he is no midfield maestro. But he screams at our defenders, he leaves the imprint of his boot on the shin of every opposing midfielder.. forget Ayala, Albelda was the plank of our defense. (not meaning to take anything away from Ayala, by all means). The exiled trio will bleed orange in the last 5 games and prove TinTin wrong.

First of all I think “Ali” is totally demented. Cani should most definitely NOT be 2nd after Timo, if anything it should be the other way around. And last I checked who gave a crap about Timo’s “morale”? Boohoo, dude- make way for the greatest.
Also, you are totally underestimating Angulo.
And you think Albelda should NOT come back?? LOL. Albelda is one of the best players on the team. And of course he took the club to court because he had been treated downright unfairly, as though he was something Soler and Koeman had stepped in. Still, that does not affect the love that he still has for Valencia. Albelda’s battles with the club were against Koeman and Soler. Both of which are (mostly) gone now. Furthermore, when he cried in front of the cameras he cried from the heart! Apparently you do not have one of those or you might realize how gut-wrenching it must have been to be dismissed, without a single word of praise or reason, by the one thing you poured all your sweat, blood and passion into for YEARS.
As for Villa- he does not need to go anywhere… All he needs is a decent coach and a better environment to work his magic in. Villa STAYS!
Now that I’ve said all that…. WELCOME BACK FELLAS! I’m SO freakin’ happy that the trio are back. And with that kraut Hildebrand being injured I’m pretty confident Cañete will make a BRILLIANT appearance in goal this weekened. Lord knows that if Voro put that joke of a goalie Mora in to play he’d be making the first huge mistake of his coaching career at Valencia.
Thanks for a great post Cesar. AMUNT VALENCIA!!!!!!!!!

Daniel, I’m with you 100%. Sure do miss Ayala though…
Hoser, I would hardly call Cañizares “creaky.” There was a penalty shoot-out at training a couple of weeks ago and of all three ‘keepers who saved (by far) the most penalties? Yup, that creaky Cañizares. And where is your proof that Albelda “asked opposition players on the pitch to not run so much?” Where you there? I bet you where… I can see you’re just sooo cool like that :-)

I think the last thing we should be doing right now is running down three of the best players on this team when we’re truly in the middle of a crisis. I think we should be DAMNED happy that they are back and we should totally utilize each of their strengths in a time like this. I also believe Cani and Albelda will raise the team morale which is another very important thing right now.. I can’t wait to see them back on the pitch and I’m hoping it happens this weekend!
    AMUNT!

    It’s ridiculous.

Albelda, whatever he has done in the past, won’t outshine Marchena in the matches to come, because he hasn’t played for months. And as for subs there are Maduro and Sunny.

The same goes for Angulo- there are Arizmendi and Joaquin and even Silva for his position.

The only one who could possibly do any good is Canizares, but only until Hildebrand comes back from injury.

This whole thing was probably just for the press. I seriously doubt whether the fans or the other players actually want to see the trio back on the pitch this season.
