Uggh …

I didn’t watch the entire 1-0 defeat to Sevilla yesterday, so I can’t form concrete opinions on what transpired.
But from the little I saw and the comments I’ve seen posted around the internet, we looked blah …

That’s been the general opinion of the squad for the past three matches.

Hey, what can ya do? We’re trying, no?

Small opinions:

- Please Please PLEASE don’t play Bruno and Dealbert anymore. I know, they’re what we have to work with. But I think I could be a better defender.

- Jonas and Soldado … I like coach Unai Emery working with two strikers. It’s unfortunate we misfired or couldn’t score. Let’s praise Sevilla ‘keeper Javi Varas, who played an exceptional match.

- What is it about this squad that frustrates year in, year out? It’s not like the talent isn’t there, minus the defense. What’s up?

- Our Beloved’s players paid their respects to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan by wearing special one-off shirts that had their names written in Japanese. Classy move, VCF.

Overall, a blah match. That’s what I gathered from it. The referee could have granted us some penalties. But really, why whine over spilled milk?

Unfortunately, Marco Ruben’s header put Villarreal up to third in La Liga with a 1-0 win at Athletic Bilbao on Sunday. So we’re fourth now. Bugger …

Having impressed in qualifying for the Europa League quarter-finals by beating Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday, Villarreal appealed more to their battling qualities to move up to 54 points with nine games left.

They took possession of the last automatic Champions League qualification place as Valencia dropped down to fourth on goal difference.

Our Beloved have now lost their last two league games since being knocked out of Europe’s elite club competition.

Afterwards, Emery pointed this way and that, gesticulating like a hopped up drug addict.

“We put in a good performance and really didn’t deserve to lose this game. The first half could have gone either way, but we were the better [team] overall against a direct rival,” he was quoted as saying by Marca, that beacon of the Spanish free press.

Emery remained positive despite the loss and pointed out that Valencia have nine more crucial games ahead.

“We might have lost a battle here, but the war isn’t over just yet. We have nine more finals coming up. I don’t know whether the international break comes at the perfect moment for us.”

Nine finals? Oh jeez …

VCF’s attackers failed to impress in front of the Sevilla goal, but Emery was still pleased with the performance of his forwards.

“The attackers did a good job and created several good chances. They were just unlucky not to find the ‘net, but I absolutely don’t blame them for the loss,” he concluded.

Uggh … I dunno what else to say.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not ready to jump over a bridge just yet. But the results of the past few matches make me somewhat apprehensive and worried about the next ‘nine finals’.

Next week it’s Getafe, who gave Barcelona a pretty good match.

Final #1.

Joel is not good enough to be our RB. Emery is a solid coach .. get over it.

Why isn’t Joel good enough? He was good against Racing last year, and Miguel and Bruno are both complete shit. Even if Joel turns out to be shit, it’s no worse than Miguel or Bruno…

Miguel is far better than him. Miguels problems are off the field.. he is a fine rb.

Joel played well against a subpar team.. he isnt ready for Valencia A as anything but a backup.

Emery is not a solid coach imo. That being said, there are many worse (but that doesnt make him solid). Who the f*** is Joel? :)

    @ Fayez
Hahah yeah you’re going to Amsterdam to relax and get in touch with nature! We have some of the finest eco-products! And you’re coming to Geneva? I live in Zurich, that could work than!

Now this is a solid coach Javier, just for old times sake, the way Cuper discribes how a team should be to have success, how to “channel” emotions so you stay humble and hungry and dont overreact, i wish Emery would talk like this…

    @ Johnnie Walker

Joel is from VCF Mestalla. He played once last year against Racing Santander, and was 1v1 with Sergio Canales for most of the match and held his own. Here’a a video I made of every time he touched the ball and was involved defensively. Mind you, he was 18 years old.

    @ Javier

Miguel is shit now. He used to be good.

He is gonna be good. You see how he touches / handles the ball, that is an essential difference between good players and bad ones. If you see for example Beckham, Messi or Xavi, the way they handle the ball is like a glove, i cant really explain how but it is subtle, directly under control. He has that touch! Thanks for the link! What nationality is he anyway, spanish mom / carribean dad? Cause of the (Joel) Johnson Alajarín…

He has a Spanish mom and Liberian father. He was born in Torrent, Valencia. That’s the same hometown as Paco Alcacer.

    Mata was my own MOM:
Anyways,Soldado righted his previous wrongs and even reminded me of Villa for his 3rd goal.
    The strikers instinct.

Amunt Soldado! Great to see him score 4 goals today. I think Mata was brilliant as well. Everyone else was their usual self.

I know Getafe havent won in quite a while (I think they’ve won 1 in 13 matches!) but still its good to have 3 points.

altho we scored 4, and we took the 3, but im not convinced with how we played, and soldado in my opinion is a very average player that had a lucky day. no where hes got the killer instinct tht villa has got. im almost sure that if the goal keeper was cassilas or de gea he wouldnt have scored 4! ustari was pathetic! but a great effort and im happy we won to gve us a boost to use againt the yellows.
