The Red Coats are comming!

Alright so the last game broke our streak of victories. Here is what i took away from the match. IT WAS A PRESEASON GAME! I think that alot is being made of the 2-0 by alot of people. Ive read valencia was bad.. we didnt have as many chances yadda yadda. I think we have some disgruntled VCF fans that may not understand what the preseason is for.

First off. Man U had alot riding on the game. It was their first home game after the raid on their stars. No more Tevez no more oscar winning dives from Christiano. Also they replaced them with the senior citizen Owen.

Man U had to prove to home fans they are still the worlds best.
And frankly i didnt see it.
I saw a Man U side that in the first half had their cage rattled just as much as they rattled ours. It took 10 subs and a Goalie in midfield to score. At no time when those goals went in were they seeing Valencia’s starting 11 for the 2010 season.
So why the tears and complaints. We had weak spots in defence… good; Now we know where to do the patching. We need some Central ball controll.. Great lets work on it. Thats what the preseason is for.
Valencia went to england to take notes. Man U went to win a match. Some notes of note ? Cesar is amazing between the posts, Moya is awesome but should stick to goaltending, Carletto is the opposite of awesome and cries alot, Silva is still quick and solid, Zigic needs to get a visa regardless of height, Dealbert is better than Albiol.

I think we will see a very different Valencia when Arsenal comes to town.
Why?
Because now its in front of home fans that wanna see us win. It is still a nothing match, but these things change when it comes to your own fans cheering or jeering.. ticket sales for the year are riding on the match.

I already have my ticket.

More news.

Stabæk IF ? Doesnt it look like an a and an e are getting it on in the middle of their name. I mean seriously. Time and place.

So who are these pornografic Norwegians. No idea. I must say i seriously did not know they existed untill we drew them. Im not a huge follwer of Norwegian football.. which im sure is top class. What i do know. Valencia cannot afford to take them lightly.
Stabæk IF is last years champion of the Norwegian Tippeligaen League. (roughly translated i beleive it means Pickled Trout League not sure.) Also they have been playing since April so in theory they will be in full form. Currently they are in 4th place.
All kidding aside Valencia do need to take this game seriously. First off because losing to a team i cant pronounce is embarrasing beyond words and second because we need to get to prove we are once again a force in europe. Alot of our boys are young and have limited playtime in europe and need the diversity of gameplay that brings. And of course the cash from the games doesnt hurt either.
Valencia also have a very poor record against poor teams. Sure we beat Real madrid and tie Barca.. but Real Sociedad oh noes. Valencia have to start showing consistency against poor teams as well as the powerhouses. Show up and win.

So whats the public opinion. Valencia vs Arsenal & Pickled Herring vs Valencia

    @ ADIMENTE and everyone

Do you know where I can find some information on francisco Roman Alarcon Suarez a.k.a. “Isco” or Miguel Ángel Riau Ferragut a.k.a. “Riau”. Those were our 2 best youngsters against Al Ain.

Kyle: It seems that I’m a scout searching for young and exciting prospect. :D

I’ll try to find out about those two. However, if they do not have a profile on wikipedia (I know it’s not a reliable source, but still…), it means that they are quite anonymous on the European stage. Hence, they might be very difficult to find on net.

—>Well, apparently, the guy has a Facebook (if you want to add him, now is the chance… I don’t have such things)

Chances are that it’s his real Facebook because he’s relatively unknown. Therefore, people would not take his name.

    http://es-la.facebook.com/people/Miguel-Angel-Riau-Ferragut/1087027494

—>The official website has some statistic about him:

    http://www.valenciacf.com/contenidos/ElEquipo/Jugadores/Mestalla/Riau.html?__locale=es

During the first half of the season, he was much more of a substitute, but he gradually become part of the first eleven. He had 5 goal on 30 game played.

—>As you mentioned it on another forum, (I believe it’s you Kyle because the guy’s pseudo is locoforlosche)he must have been playing for Levante U.D

However, he was born in Zaragosa.

    http://es.levanteud.com/juvenil/plantilla/20072008/Riau.html

“Campeón de España con la Selección catalana Sub-16.”
Well, one of his palmares implies that he waàould be catalan.

—>Something he said tocheer up his teammates and what appears tobe some series of negatives result at their home ground:

    http://www.valenciacf.com/contenidos/Actualidad/Noticias/2009/01/Noticia_17035.html

Well, i have nothing concrete. The guy is simply too anonymous, but still, I guess we know a little more about this newcomer. By searching, I’ve seen some of his stats and he does not seem t score a lot.

    ———————About Isco————————–

—>Well, like I said it, for starters, Isco is part of the U-17 national squad.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spain_national_under-17_football_team

—>Unfortunately, he is not in the reserve obviously,) because he has 17 years old or so. He was born in Malaga according to the official website.

    http://www.valenciacf.com/es/CiudadDeportiva/PlantillasEscuela.html

He’s the number ten, has two goals and thirteen caps.

—>Unluckily for us, airfùtbol don’t have videos showing their prowess.

    http://www.airfutbol.com/web/index.php

    —————————————————————————————-

Finally, I think I can’t get much. Contrary to Arsenal, Valencia keep their youngsters in the shadow…so not much is known about them. We will have to wait until they have been more establish in the first team to be more alert about them. Michel, for example, is not well known yet on the web and he has been playing with the senior squad since last season. Anyway, it was quite a challenge to find those few informations.
    ———————————————————–

P.S.: While I was writing my final words, I found this:

    http://joinfutbol.com/jovenes_promesas/izco/

It only says what you already know about him, but they probably up date the page since it’s meant to informed us about the exciting prospect.

i think the reason they are hidden is due to the contract issues.. spain contract can be offered only at 18.. ppl dont want a player like cesc leaving us..
but if they are insanely talented like the barca kids then it’s hard to put a lid on their exploits

After the sub17 tournament here in Saxony I already tried to find out things about Izco/Isco and Cifo who is a right winger – but did only find the same stuff like adimente.

But I can scan the autographs of them if you like! ;)

Just because Sir Alex twitters me doesnt mean he’s my scout! And the reason I dont let him know about Isco is because you lot would never get over it :D You can have your Iscos and your David Silvas – on the United part of the internet, people are getting over excited at the prospect we’ll be signing him. Think they are just clutching at straws though and believing in the make-believe stories of our press. So yeah, keep your Iscos and Silvas. At least for the next few years ;) I’d take a Villa, Mata or a Banega though if they are on offer.

Because we happen to be very good at taking players before they are eligible for contracts in their own countries. I’m not saying its a good thing – its just a thing. Like when we took Pique from Barcelona and Arsenal took Fabregas. Like we took Rossi from Parma and Arsenal took… Err… I forget his name. Turns out he was rubbish. Like we took Macheda from Lazio and Davide Petrucci (considered the new Totti) from Roma. Or the Da Silva twins who we came to an agreement with Fluminese for before they played once for their club. Its the one area really where British clubs have a ruling advantage over Spanish and Italian clubs as we can get players signed up sooner. Ours and everyone else’s. There really should be an even playing field though. But theres nothing I can do about that. So I’ll just enjoy each new starlet who comes through our reserves and into the first team. Isco looks good enough to do that, but hopefully he’ll stick with Valencia.

ya man.. that’s exactly what the rest of the european clubs fear and hence do not expose their best talents.. i dint say just valencia.. but the ruling in merida’s case might make them think twice..

Interesting. Never knew that. Sometimes, he does fail to take advantage of it though, doesn’t he, like with Pique? Too many such acquisitions to be able to judge all of them correctly?

    cornercorner
  • Lillo |  August 12th, 2009 at 9:09 am

Nah, Pique like all the young players that come to United and have potential, was given his chances. When Barcelona came in for Pique Sir Alex even said that Pique would get 20-25 games the next season (last season) because he obviously wanted to keep a hold of him. But I think after a number of years the novelty of our offer had worn off. By that I mean, at 16 we tend to offer a player good terms (and if the player is someone else’s, their parents usually get good terms too) and when a player signs for us, they know that if they are good enough they’ll be playing in the first team at 17/18 years old and given plenty of chances. But Pique at what, 21 – he’d had all that already. So he got his footballing education with us, he got his contract, he got his chances to improve in the first team. But Barcelona were his hometown club… And given we have Vidic and Ferdinand, he could be waiting around as a backup for 3 or 4 years yet. So I didnt blame him really for wanting to go back. And we have Evans who performed better in the first team last season than Pique had anyway. So for now we havent really missed him. But if he fulfils his potential he’s going to end up being one of those players everyone wishes was in their team as he has ball playing skills not usually found on defenders.

Guys not only Spain is losing (Pandev 8min and 33min) but they are really playing awfull. Villa missed a clear chance, than he hit the crossbarr but that’s it. Macedonia had three more clear goal chances, but they wasted them. Pandev is an extraordinery player, wish we had the funds to sign him, just imagine Villa and Pandev partnership, fast, strong and inteligent strikers.

    Amunt!!!
