Well our Europa League start may have been a rough one but we really cannot argue that the result isnt at all bad.
We got a point away from home against a tough team using our backups.
hey not too bad at all.
And in all honesty i think both teams could have taken all three from this one.
Emery made 10 changes from our main squad.. we can effectively say this was our B team. And yes the defence was shaky.
But this is our backup.. so considering that.. we took our backups to France and nearly left with their banners in our trunk.
IMO 1-1 was a fair result.
Here is what Uefa.com had to say about the match.
LOSC Lille Métropole and Valencia CF had substitutes to thank as they opened their UEFA Europa League Group B campaigns with an enthralling 1-1 draw in northern France.
Dividends
After both sides had gone close, Juan Mata finally broke the deadlock in the 78th minute having been on the pitch for barely 60 seconds. However, Lille coach Rudi Garcia saw his own tactical switches pay dividends, with Gervinho levelling with four minutes left to ensure his side remain unbeaten in Europe this season.Thundered
Valencia coach Unai Emery opted to rest some of his first-choice XI giving Joaquín the chance to impress and he provided Nikola Žigić with an early opening which saw the Serb force a fine stop from former Valencia keeper Ludovic Butelle, before the Spanish international thundered a drive off the bar from an acute angle. Stuttering in Ligue 1, Lille have been far more solid in Europe, and could have gone in front when Eden Hazard and Ludovic Obraniak combined to release Robert Vittek behind a static Valencia rearguard, but the Slovakian international proved indecisive with just César Sánchez to beat.
Spectacular
The half-time break did little to halt Lille’s momentum with Obraniak forcing César into a full-length stop to palm aside a low drive, though Rudi Garcia’s men almost undid their own good work on 65 minutes. Emerson’s backward header totally wrong-footed Butelle and Adil Rami had to spectacularly hook the ball to safety with Žigić poised to head into the empty net.Fortuitous
It was the flurry of substitutions in the closing stages that finally saw the stalemate broken. The alert Žigić found Joaquín, and his surging run and delicate pass allowed Mata to lift the ball into the net with his first touch. It was a cruel blow for Lille, who equalised in fortuitous circumstances.
Bruno’s miscued clearance ricocheted off Rio Mavuba and into the path of Gervinho, who coolly slotted the ball under César to earn a deserved share of the spoils.
All in all i say this went well for us.
Possitives.
Cesar is still brilliant between the posts.
Joaquin is still an excellent winger.. even if he is now a sub.
Zigic has class he was unfortunate to not get an early goal.
And Mata..
well he’s Mata… pure awesome.
More Possitives?
Easy.. we got a point away from home in the Europa league and our main players are all rested. Its not very often we are going to get that kind of opportunity so lets relish it.
Next match is this Sunday against Sporting De Gijon and we need to make it count. The Che need to maintain this momentum and keep maximizing our points to keep up with the big boys.
And this is a home game so is counts more than ever.. lets set the tone for the rest of the season.
Im possitive that we will win. But i want us to win big.
I mean look at the attack we bring.
Mata.. Silva .. Pablo all attacking with Villa la Maravilla.
My prediction. Valencia 2-0 Sporting
Amunt Valencia

Im pretty sure even the Getafe manager is better than Emery….their players are very well positioned in defence.
Well done Emery…another fuckin screw up.

If I were Villa, I would rape Emery soon after this match for not allowing a move to Barca or Madrid in the summer. Emery just doesn’t provide a good enough team to support Villa.

How can we have such a disjointed team with the players we have, Banega has worked full pelt all the time and so has Joaquin for the time he was on from left wing and right wing and chasing back into defense as well.
Emery has not built a team. Our backs , what backs? what is the point of putting four names on the back line if they are never there. The constant picture is one left in defense if you are lucky and the others chasing an opposing forward, hoping to get there first, but generally the goalie has to save the day. We did this all last year and are still doing it. Emery get your act together…AmendrasPosted from

@Raks: even if those players come we will never win anything with this team..If we manage to get 4th place it would be due to the lack of competition and not because we have a good team. Our team has no defensive tactics.
We were winning…and we lost 3-1 in the end.

Why are you guys blaming Emery for players that were brought in and not selling Villa.
We have no money to buy players.
And Fernando Gomez and Manuel Llorente are reponsible for not selling Villa, not Emery.

@ Fayez
may be we ll draw these kind of gamesPosted from

dealbert needs to back asap..
i know banega is great, but it’s either banega or silva.. silva is not a striker and with banega being the creative force silva is just redundant on the pitch.. if we want both to play then it should be a one man midfield(like the last 30 min against getafe with zigic upfront) and with our defense that’s tough..Posted from

@ Dave:
It’s not so much that the TEAM is bad. our defence in general sucks! and Emery doesn’t know what defensive tactics are!!Posted from

Its not completely emery’s fault.LLorente should also be blamed.Villa should have been sold to RM n we would ve got a decent replacement in negredo. We could ve kept Albiol then, from 25m we could ve got Sergio Sanchez n Roberto Canella,Wit Banega improving it could ve so balanced.
Instead kept villa, sold albiol….villa is 28 will never tat worth again.Bruno n mathieu cost no money but not good enough for Valencia

i think we should play with dealbert and marchena as cb’s..
alexis and maduro suck.miguels sucks.mathieu sucks until now.moya…we could buy a cb with that money.i can’t remember him making a save.joaquin must be sold.albelda too
sunny, aaron must come back..and we need to buy a lot of players if we make any money by selling them
and if we could sack emery and take venger it would be perfect as we won’t have to spend a lot of moneyPosted from

interesting facts:
Before the match Emery said:
1. “We are focussed on Getafe match” – the result = he must have meant to focus on fucking our team up. Getafe 3-1 Valencia
2. “We should create more chances than the opponents” – the result = Getafe have 15 shots and Valencia only 10 (most of them are half-chances)
3. “We should play in opponent’s half” – the result = Getafe won the midfield battle and we couldn’t keep the ball more than 10 seconds in Geta’s half.
4. “Injuries cost us points against Gijon” – the result = no injury in Getafe match, and we lost. Simply there are no excuse anymore.5. Getafe didn’t even have their two best players (Soldado and Albin) on the pitch, yet they raped our defence today, with Mathieu and Maduro being owned by Manu.
6. Villa once said “We must keep winning” – bull shit. Villa can’t even win without the support of the whole team, especially defence. It’s useless for a forward to score 4 when his team concedes 5. That’s what happens.
7. Emery once said “We have to play in quick tempo” – bull shit. the defenders looked very slow, and the speedy offences did countless missed passing today. they couldn’t even keep the possession.Posted from

@Kyle: We are blaming Emery because he lacks the tactical skills necessary for a team like Valencia. Our team is a mess while defending and its not the players (since we’ve seen them play well under other managers), its his tactics that are the problem. Almost all the decisions he makes are terrible and he is outsmarted by almost every single coach. Even amateurs like us can see his mistakes.
The only thing that Emery did to the team was motivate them…but tactically we are still a midtable team. We have very good players in our squad and Emery doesnt know how to use them properly.

i read a lot of coments.in some agree and in some no. first i saw the math from 35 and i today was the worst match.at least against gijon we made 80 good minutes.today auful. today this defense is for a relegated club.if the defense is not working,, then the midfield and then the wholo team. i m pretty sure that if they dont make the 1-1 so guickly then with the counterattacks we have we will seeing another match.

so lets talk about players.moja start the season with faults.in some times look secure but he made mistakes. we will give him time.cesar good for back up. mathieu was bad today. he make good crosses is strong but tall and today pedro leon who is very good make him whatever he want. we think about del orno. think it. del orno as a player is very good. the thing it is that doesent show it with the injuries. maybe give him a chance. and see him or mathieu. it is the start ok. if we put him in the defense of barca maybe look very good. the problem with defense cant be only the players. yes i know that we dont have the best. we dont have ayala. but a defense with mathieu marchena alexis miguel as name seems good. as far i say bruno(against athletiko)/ and mathieu if plays well then yes if no we will see. delabert seems a good defender and will be a starter for now with alexis who had good and bad games.and miguel .but miguel and the dl must stay back.espesialy away.yes to give help in attack but not so so so much.this is the problem. do you agree? the defense is realy high.see the match with sevilli the defense was back.result?2-0. bruno dosent seem good.i want the back to know ball but to know to defense. bruno make some good crosses. but in defense so and so so far.time will tell who of the singings could play in valencia. but in the start doesn seem so promising. (maduro and navaro)let be serius. we have a defense with ayala carboni angloma pelegrino and later marchena.with albelda dmc. i cant imagine the best defense in the world to be disastrous. so maduro and navaro must go away. and to buy a leader. kata diez from getafe seems good.

in the midfiled. banega is so so good. with marchena play good, but maybe with fernades back and if is in good conditions as last year title with the argentinian magician. and marchena back with dealbert or alexis. baraja and albelda only for sub. nacho i dont believe will take chances. sold him. maybe maduro can see him in dmc as sub.opinion? michel cant play there.is to thin. mata is very very good. today wasnt good but the whole team. is wish vicente be back at least as a sub.and give some chances to alba. if shine stay if not a loan. in right pablo and joaguin is good. pablo helpes more in defense. joaguin has more talent.pablo make better crosses.we will who has form. of baraja and fernades dosent reclaim their level, de guzman whould be a good sub for amc and rotation banega who will need a relax.

in attack little to say.silva magician villa the best. michel is playes well as a sb ok if not loan. zigic dosnt see swit with the team.if villa is tired will change the model of our play. i dont know if for example mata isnt good in a match and put silva aml if villa and zigic can play together. opinion?miku seems promising.had good skills .he must seaech the goal. he swit better with the team. mayne del moral or a player like uche wouldnt be bad.

and now my friends. emery with him we play good in attack. not good in defense. we play a very important game with athletiko. a good game and a win will give confidense and time to defense to be stronger. the thing with the defense is that the team dl dr dc dc dmc go far far. see the first goal with gijon. my nevres. a goal with one pass to centre and goal. so simple.????? emery motivate the team well. but if he dosent fix the defense he havent future. we the defense coming the trofhies. imagine the desense we had, with the attcking talent now…… primera? ya chl? ya cup? ya. so emery you are a manager of valencia and the roster is to be among the best. 3rd at least 4th.to paly champions league.to earn money. to be happy villa silva and me you all the valencians. amunt. i want opninion. and one more thing the changes of emery in the two last matches, is bad, out banega, bruno in the second?emery miguel mathieu or bruno back.this is the solution and the whole team to mark.then we will se a defense more solid.not the best but a good defense and the potential in attack we are at least 3rd.so emery wins is the best medichine. so we must win athletiko. sold navarro maduro and natcho. and buy a dc kata was good today. pareja? i dont know. and de guzman for liitle money will be a good addition. today in the match we were very bad. so i dont brake anything.xaxxa
