Should I Stay or Should I Go?

curro_torres051206_es.jpgAnyone who knows me knows I like to frequent football message boards, time permitting.
There are some great Valencia boards out there, including foroche.com for the Spanish-speaking fan and soccerpulse.com, which has an overall great site and wonderful Valencia forum.

I’m more partial to the board at Xtratime.com. I’ve been going there for years and have come to trust the opinions of the posters.
There’s a thread going around these days (probably on every club’s message board) on who should stay and who should go.

With respects to Mestalla, forum manager of the Valencia Xtratime board, I couldn’t have done it better than you … A list of players … just GO already!!!

1. Curro Torres (pictured, above) - Stalwart of the championship teams, but do we really need him now?

2. Estoyanoff - Who? Does he even play?

3. Hugo Viana - With Edu coming back (maybe) and Snejider coming (we hope), there’s no use for the Portuguese. Besides, he tried to break Villa’s leg in practice … off with you!

4. Mario Regueiro - I like this lad and would keep him, just to have him on the bench.

5. David Navarro - Suspended after the incidents against Inter. Please get rid of him. He can play for Oviedo or Sporting Gijon if he wants …

6. Ruz - I honestly have no idea who this is. So let him go.

7. Butelle - He’s already loaned out and we have Hildebrand and Canizares. There’s no need for him.

8. Jorge Lopez - Nice of the Mestalla to clap a guy who’s done nothing in his years at Valencia. To be fair, never given a chance.

9. Carboni & Flores - The tag-team champions of Spain will find out their fates June 30th on the Valencia Slamboree Pay-Per-View Extravaganza … seriously, this June 30th thing reminds me of a wrestling storyline, no?

Anyways, that’s the opinion of the board and I can’t say I disagree. Maybe a few more could be added, like Baraja & Vicente (dare I say?).

What do you think???? And can we please get Angloma back??? He’s out of his mind! (Look at this GOLAZO he scored against Canada on Sunday, clip courtesy of faithful reader Sara)

    Finally some credit:D
Vicente will not leave, if we sell him now we won’t get a lot of cash in return. KEEP HIM.
As for QQ and Carboni, I can’t wait to find out who will get the boot (I hope it’s QQ).

I love Vicente. And if a transfer is what it takes to see a top Vicente again, let it be. Though I doubt there is any team interested and he is willing to leave.

Jo. L already left, I think.

I agree with most of the names on this list. I would hate to Viana leave because I love the guy and he’s a great player and we see that shine through every once in awhile, but I’m not sure why he isn’t doing so hot in Valencia. Wow, I can’t believe you said maybe we should get rid of Vicente. He is an amazing player that unfortunately has been plagued with injuries for the past two years but I don’t think that should be held against him. When he is healthy, he is phenomenal. Plus, he’s a fan favorite and I’m not sure I would forgive Valencia if they got rid of him…

Sarrah, I love the guy too … but he’s always injured. It’s so frustrating … I wonder if he can even get back the trajectory he was on … Ok, maybe I am being a bit rash. I love the guy. But I want to see the Vicente I love and we haven’t seen that in some time. Let’s hope for the best …
