Round of 16, Here We Come

After the debacle that was Barcelona 5 – Valencia 1 this Sunday, it’s on to greener pastures and the Mestalla, where Stoke City comes to town.
It’s Thursday night and the UEFA Europa League.
I did another preview of the big match over at Forza Futbol, so won’t you be so kind as to check it out and tell me what you think?
Key points heading into this match:
1 – Is Unai Emery on the hot seat? The Barca loss was tough to take. Can we advance against a weakened Stoke side? If we don’t, not only would it be a major shock but a bitter disappointment. Emery’s job could be on the line.
2 – Weakened is the key word. Stoke are sitting many of their key players, including Peter Crouch and Matthew Etherington. The Potters will be playing their fourth match in 10 days and their squad simply isn’t deep enough to contend with us. So how about we do what we need to do, eh?
3 – Ever Banega. I don’t even know what to say. Muppet.
So take a peek at my preview, let’s take Stoke out and advance. How about it?
By the way, I DO think we can win this tournament. So let’s show Europe that the 5-1 isn’t indicative of our talent.

After being away from most valencia blogs, i’ve decided to browse throgh some today, and to my shocking discovery, its safe to say the valencia english community is 98% lost, no posts, no updates, nothing. Didnt think it would basically collapse after loco4losche was closed down. Well was nice knowing u all from L4LC and other sites, thanks for the memories and for having people to share frustration and joy,,,,, mostly frustration during valencia matches for the past 2 years or so. If nobody posts updates then nobody will leave a comment, it’s simple as that. Interaction between a “host” and “guests” is needed. This site had 4 bloggers some time ago yet nobody seem to be able to post an update at least once a week. Frustrating, I miss the constant bickering of fickle VCF fans.

I tried to find a good english valencia site after Kyle’s departure..I can’t find even one with active community…All sites blogs etc may have fresh news about the team but 0 comments,0 interaction and this is very disappointing.. I remember when we could share our opinion during the match..Can we do sth now? Can we gather somewhere?
ps: The team is shitty at the second round but i didn’t miss a game so far… Yes ok it hurts me to see my team not playing well, but i will support Valencia at easy times and hard ones as well. I will not stop watching her even we lose the CL spots and the europa league trophy… -
Someone has to start a website and pay for all the shit that comes with it.
And yeah, I’ve been saying this for a long time now – our form is shitty and Banega has been practically carrying us for a season. Now that he’s gone we’re hopeless. Even Soldado can’t finish for shit now, Piatti reverted back to his early season form, Pablo is as terrible as ever, and Parejo’s lack of game time is painfully obvious. Even Rami has been shit.

Well….there’s still an active facebook community. Thats about the last active VCF community I know.
I’ve been a member of almost every VCF community I’ve come across. Very active in some while passive in others.
I’ve met a couple of people and we’ve become good friends.
A couple of reasons might have triggered the supposed “silence”. Like Quin said, an inactive website wont generate comments. Also, the shitty performance by the team wont encourage the fickle fans.

)I guess Kyle got married or something; after closing Loco4LosChe we wanted to post articles here, but I guess he sounded a bit offended as well, after some creeps posted negative comments of his work.
This site was great before “Kyle’s era”, Cesar posting almost every day, lots of response. I actually got to know guys living in Valencia (Bob & Javier) here, and we met & hung out at Manolo’s near Mestalla.
Someone should really post something/anything once a week at least, I guess people will return. But it takes time, people will only respond to regular updates and lively community.

we are starting to take off, it is just a message board, you don’t have to be a member, some have become one. We are ranked in the top 3 pages of Valencia Cf searches and we post about all games. This site doesn’t really need anyone running it, so it won’t die. We get 50-100 visitors per day and growing.

Listen why go to these fickle blogs that leap into action and die out? The Valencoa CF facebook group has been active for the last six years and now has over 7000 membetr and updated with neww and chat constantly…

Facebook is ok but it sucks at many things, for a start you have to sign in to Facebook.
I belong to a Facebook community, it is ok, but generally the discussions are kept to very few words and are not as interesting on a proper board that has no word restrictions.
Freedom of choice, go where you wish but I say that our board is better than any Facebook Group and looking at most clubs, the message boards are much bigger than the Facebook sites in numbers of visitors.
