Rosenborg … Uggh

By: Cesar | October 24th, 2007

norge.jpgThis is just a small post in light of the events in Norway today, which I ‘gleefully’ read on my computer at work.

2-0 to Rosenborg. ROSENBORG! And our chances of qualifying for the knockout stages look iffy at best.

Grupo B PJ G E P GF GC Ptos
Chelsea 3 2 1 0 5 2 7
Rosenborg 3 1 1 1 3 3 4
Schalke 04 3 1 0 2 2 3 3
Valencia 3 1 0 2 2 4 3

As indicated by the table above, we’re in last place, merely a point from the 2nd place Norwegians. But if I’m to believe the lads writing for Marca.com and valenciacf.es, we played horribly. And who is to trust this unit to regroup, get better and make the next round?

UEFA Cup, here we come!

Again, it’s the defense. Time and again our strongest suit, it’s now our glaring deficiency.

What can one say?

I’m sad to see this happening to my club. We’re a good team, but we fail when the stakes get high. What now for the upcoming Sevilla and Real Madrid games? 5-0? 7-0 like Arsenal’s thrashing yesterday? Woe betide … I have NO faith in Quique to pull us out of this. None.

Where does anyone get confidence in him? Because we beat teams like Deportivo? Or Real Betis? C’mon. I don’t get it. Really, I don’t.

More on this putrid stinkfest when I have time to regurgitate and chew on it some more.

There are few givens in life, death, taxes, and that Quique Sanchez Flores sucks. May his departure be swift and soon.

I’m actually looking forward to the Mestalla reaction this weekend. It should be, well, interesting.

Shame about the loss. Rosenborg eh? May turn out to be the team equivalent of the grim reaper for coaches? Mourinho down, maybe Quique is next to go? I can only hope.

I saw the game… Joaquin and Miguel were lively up the right and Gavilán looked like a threat for about 15 minutes, but the rest of the midfield was mostly a waste. Moro was not getting service and Silva had a quiet day.

What’s disappointing is the way Valencia played, they didn’t deserve any points, Rosenborg had 7 shots on goal (15 total) and Valencia 2 on goal (11 total), and I think they had 9-2 in corners. Cañizares can not be blamed for any of the goals.
Having said that, teams that have lost to Rosenborg in the CL include Real Madrid, Deportivo, Milan, Borussia Dortmund and they also won their group in the 99/00 season, so Valencia are at least in good company…

I saw the game and I regret watching it. It was extremely painful to watch and the only good that can come of this game is if quique is fired (aka not happening). The way we are playing is disgraceful to a team with as much potential as ours

Wow what an awful display of football i watched the second half and we deserved to lose, passes were way off team wasnt clicking and as always the defense sucks, yes even miguel was horrible but give credit to Rosenburgh they dominated us just about everywhere on the pitch. Oh and it wasnt just the defense no points? Joaquin had a chance but simply shoots directly at the goalkeeper 50 million for that wow. QQ looked like he was freezing and couldnt wait till the game was over, pretty much how the rest of the team played.

First of all, I’m so happy I stumbled into this blog and it is not in Spanish, yeay!Nothing against the language, am learning it but it’s goin to take a long time still until I can actually comprehend every single thing written in those other Valencia blogs.
Getting into business, I saw the match and regretted it too, should have spent my time reading instead. We played terribly and if Juan Soler doesn’t fire him now, Quique should quit (to save his dignity) and some players need to be booted out. We created nothing! We needed Villa but if we have to rely on him all the time, we’re pretty much screwed.

Hey Jasmine, here’s a site that you might like: http://community.livejournal.com/valenciacf_fans its where female valencia fans congregate and they post a lot of translated articles about the team there

Jeezan… I didnt watch the game, but my co workers cud tell by my intermittent cursing that things were going poorly.. Rosenborg… No offense to the Norwegians, but friggin ROSENBORG… You need to sing, dance and work magic to heal Vicente and Edu for me to have any sort of confidence in you right now QQ
