valladolid01.jpgI haven’t had much to say the past few days. I’ve been consumed by work and other matters and didn’t feel a need to continue my whine-fest over Quique Sanchez Flores and his coaching acumen.

Besides, Valencia haven’t played in about two weeks, with internationals taking center stage.

Regardless, Valencia’s back on the field tomorrow for an important game at home against newly-promoted Real Valladolid.
Valladolid have picked up 4 points in 2 games, with a victory over Espanyol and a draw against Deportivo La Coruna.

Still, Valencia is expected to win the match.
‘We won’t be taking them lightly, but we expect to win at home and I think we will do so,’ coach Flores said.

They better.

Our boys see the returns of David Villa and Joaquin, who are available after suspension. But we will be without defender Marco Caneira, set to miss the next five weeks after picking up an injury while on international duty with Portugal.

I don’t know much about Valladolid, except that their name is hard to pronounce. Also, they boast the likes of Ruben Baraja’s brother, Javier and Fabian Estoyanoff, a Uruguayan midfielder and former Valencia product.

So that’s that. Should be a comfortable victory. I say should because nothing comes easy with Valencia.

I hope we see the debut of Portuguese midfielder Manuel Fernandes, who is desperate to play. Maybe Zigic can also get a run out there after playing in his country’s internationals this past week (and costing 25 million Euros). After this game, it’s Champions League action with a game in Germany against Schalke 04 next on the menu.

And you didn’t think I’d leave the festivities of writing a Valencia blog entry without saying something about Flores, did you?

Earlier this week, defender Asier Del Horno, loaned to Athletic Bilbao, said he’d love to return to the Mestalla. Only if Flores wasn’t the coach. Nice words.

So today Flores countered, saying Del Horno needed to look in the mirror and take responsibility before saying such things about other people. I tell you, this Valencia stuff is better than a soap opera …

‘He should think about why in two years, two different coaches have not wanted him to stay at their club,’ Flores said, reflecting on José Mourinho’s decision to let him leave after just a season with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

‘If I talk about this then I will only make it worse and we will waste a lot of time,’ Flores continued.

‘It is better that I do not say any more and I do not want to because I have more sense.’

I would like to write something about that last comment by Flores, but I’ll wait until I have more distance from it, or else I might fill up this page with more whining. Let’s just play the game this weekend. And please, let’s take the three points.

Who is meeting me at Nevada’s this Sunday? AMUNT!

By the way, Del Horno’s comments are harsh. That’s why I expected Flores to get nervous, regardless who is right and who is wrong.

Let’s hope Del Horno will return (i.e. Fores will leave :p).

Well that was awkward. Valencia’s win was pure luck. We were horrible. When is that joker quique going to get kicked off the bench? I have a feeling that this season is going to be a stressful one. On a brighter note, it’s nice to see Sisi playing so well, can’t wait until he’s back with us :)

Sadly, another undeserved victory that we should thank God on. It was a nice gift.

I thought that Manalele was pretty much a non-factor throughout the game. He didn’t bring as much creativity to the midfield as he should have. The game changed drastically when Silva came in though.

i saw the game late night. they played it again…. omg Silvas goal was lool a gift… and whats so wierd is the look on Qiques face. he had that relived face and he wasnt satisfied of how the goal got scored.. lool poor thing he doens’t know hes the reason… Sunny played well. and Miguels place showed. The players played well but there wasnt a team work and lack of tactics showed..i Think if we play barcelona like that they will beat us 5-1.

Btw him bringing Villa and Silva in shows that all the new signings are nothing… and thats is shown by when hes in trouble, he needs to score to win he brings our old players… tht makes me say.. ” then why buy new players if the only players you can count on are our old player? either u bring a real good player tht u can count on or don’t waste money” LAst thing we need is a nother joke, such as Arizmendi. And dnt tell me they need to adapt B.Scuz i could use back how snijder and drenthe are playing in Real…
