Official: Soriano Takes Over
By: Cesar | September 26th, 2008
Talk about a good start to the season.
We’re in first place after 4 games.
David Villa is scoring goals for us in buckets.
We’re short Silva, Vicente, Baraja and Marchena and still holding strong.
Now this: Juan Soler is no more. Vicente Soriano is officially the largest shareholder at Valencia.
Soriano paid €65.4m to secure a majority stake in the club. Wow …
The new chief shareholder and current president said, “We’ve carried out a purchase option that we prepared at the time. Now this institution is able to work properly and smoothly. This represents peace and quiet.”
With this in mind, Soriano, who beat Juan Villalonga in a power struggle, is now looking ahead to the new stadium project in Valencia.
“We’re close to conducting two operations – exploiting the commercial area of the new stadium and sale of the parcels of land of the Mestalla. We’ll do it soon,” he said.
Don’t forget the new web site eh?
The Juan Soler era is no more … Oh, I’m beyond happy about that …
With Deportivo coming to the Mestalla this Sunday having scored two goals in 4 games, I’d say we’re in a good position to take another 3 points.
Our upcoming opponents?
Valladolid, Numancia, Recreativo and Racing …
After that? Getafe and Sporting …
Then Sevilla, the weekend of November 23rd.
We could be in prime position come that weekend.
Optimism reigns in the Turian capital.
It’s nice to feel good about the club after the negativity of last season.

Depor, Valladolid, Numancia, Recreativo, Racing, Getafe and Sporting … shit, that’s 21 points in the bag!
Too optimistic? I don’t think so. The strength of the team shows when the team is winning with average display … and many injured players in the stands. That’s us at tis moment!Posted from

Yesterday’s performance wasn’t nothing in whole. After the first goal, we managed to put on some performance. The problem was, and remaining to be the lack of control, distribution, defense and anything else in the midfield, imo (like it’s something new). If it’s any better team we were against yesterday, we would have lost, or at best a draw.

The only reason why we are in our position is because Unai Emery respects every team. Always remember that there is no easy match in la liga and the team in 1st place can always lose if they are not careful.
As for the Soriano-Soler situation I am really happy we have finally gotten rid of Soler. But one person having almost all the shares of the club is always a scary situation to be in. It does bring stability, but what if Soriano ends up like another Soler in the end?

Hopefully this means everything is coming back to normal, although I’m not sure what normal really is.
It’ll take time to erase Soler from my memories, but I’m trying my best. But I’m really glad he’s gone for good now. But like Fayez said, I hope Soriano doesn’t turn up to be like Soler…what a scary thought.

Vicente is in the list against Depor, one man are coming from injury hopefully he’ll be okay until the season end (impossible wish???!!! i hope not)
About the new shareholder i agree with fayez one man dominate the share isn’t good for the team, but getting rid soler for me is the first purpose to make the revolution and rebuilt the team

Am I the only one who’s concerned about Villa being the man who wins us the games most of the time?
I don’t think that’s a very good thing. True, he’s amazing and all that, but what if he gets injured, will we start losing??Posted from
