NO ES UN SUEÑO (It’s Not a Dream!)
By: Cesar | May 15th, 2007
Why not? Why can’t we win the league?
It’s not impossible … 4 points back with 4 to play …
Is it crazy to think we have a chance, a shot to win this league?
A league where no club has shown consistency?
Where the champions can’t hold a 3-goal lead to a mid-table club?
Where the leaders are a team who almost fired their coach a few months ago because he played a boring brand of inconsistent football?
Where the other contenders have a shallow bench and two finals to worry about?
Why can’t Valencia do it?
As defender Miguel said today to MARCA, ‘People are talking about Real Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla but they’re forgetting about us (in the hunt for the title).
‘I think it’s good they’re forgetting about us and we’ll just keep doing what we’re doing, which is win games,’ he said. ‘We have to wait until the end to see what happens because they (Barca, Madrid and Sevilla) have difficult games ahead. If we finish second, good and if we finish first, even better.’
We have nothing to lose here, folks. Let’s just play our remaining games, win all of them and let the chips fall where they may …
It’s not impossible. We can do this …
Look at Canizares above, hoisting the cup above his head (thanks to valenciacf.com for the photo) …
Let them talk about every other team having a better chance than us. We’ll just play our games, do what we have to and quietly sneak by everyone … wouldn’t that be great?

Well, to be honest, it is a dream, but not too crazy of one, at least not in this year’s league. I do think it’s a bit much to overcome a 4 point deficit, but certainly possible.
Now that I know you guys are trying to do this thing covertly, I’m sorry, I have to report you to the authorities and make sure no one forgets about you. Sorry to blow your cover.

Well yes, it is a dream. But a wonderful one.

Winning the league would be a nice book end to what has been a remarkable at times, frustrating at others, roller coaster of a season.

i’m with you on this one cesar. you are right..why not?
we have nothing to loose anymore cause nobody consider us anymore as possible title pretenders. valencia can take all the 4 four games that are coming to a win and i think that the other three surely will drop some points in the hunt for the championship.
the pressure is on them (real, sevilla and barca) and maybe..very maybe we could be the ones who have the last laugh at the very end.
NO ES UN SUEÑO!! GO LOS CHE!!
GO LOS CHE!! KILL THEM ALL!! DONT LET THAT HORRIBLE FAKE REAL MADRID WALK AWAY WITH THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!

I don’t think it will happen considering the team ahead of them, but stranger things have happened before.

This is the time when the silly losses to Nastic , Racing , Betis and two losses to Real Madrid really hurt . I’ve said it over and over again : you don’t win a league by beating Barca and Madrid , you win it by not losing points against teams you should never lose to . In the end these adverse results will affect our real chances of being first. I dream of lifting this Cup and seeing RM go 0 for 5 …but we do need to win almost every game and wait for those up top have some catastrophic results. Not sure that will happen but if VCF don’t win it would be nice if Sevilla managed to win.

Yeah, saw your comments on Sid Lowe’s blog Cesar, even he’s doesn’t believe we’ll win it, got to say i don’t either, Real have to at least drop 2 games and so do Barca, can still happen, we have the run in for us, very easy IMO.
