Lost in the Desert
By: Cesar | January 27th, 2008
We’re in trouble. Serious trouble.
I didn’t watch the match, but caught the last half commentary online.
Wow. This isn’t good.
We haven’t won a league game in nine matches, since November 10th.
We haven’t scored in 4 home matches, equaling our worst streak since 1993-94.
We’re in serious trouble. 11th place. Still 5 points from the drop zone, thanks to Recreativo’s 3-1 loss to Getafe.
And the Mestalla faithful have lost it, calling for Koeman’s head (Koeman Vete Ya!) much like they called for QQ’s earlier this season.
It’s total and complete chaos in Valencia right now.
We’re a bull running around a small Valencian town, un toro embolado shrieking through the streets destroying everything and everyone it sees.
There’s no direction, there’s no relief in sight and there’s no help coming. We’re in deep, deep trouble.
Silva as central midfielder?
Arizmendi as right back? (All indications were that he was horrible.)
Maduro playing the entire match while Albelda sits and wastes his talents?
We’re in so much trouble right now. And what are we going to do? Fire Koeman?
He’s not leaving, people. Even he said so today after the match …
‘I’m not going to run out of here after two months. I’m not thinking of leaving now or next Wednesday or at the end of the season. I can’t talk about other decisions. My obligation is to work and analyze the matches. I’m not quitting.’
Firing Koeman or wanting him to quit isn’t the solution, anyways … do we really want another guy to come in here and try to fix this mess? Our third coach of the season?
I think the problem lies with Soler. This guy has GOT to go. He’s made horrible decisions since he’s been here.
He’s now equaled the time former president Jaime Orti was here and he’s got nothing on our former leader. He’s made bad transfers, hired awful coaches and mired the team in further debt.
The problem doesn’t lie in Koeman, Albelda, Canizares and the rest (although they’re obviously partly to blame).
The problem lies in the mis-management at the top.
Juan Soler, you have to go. Soler VETE YA!
But even then, what are we doing this season? Where are the solutions coming from?
We’re in serious trouble. I fear for our beloved.

I pray to God that elections are this year.. Soler needs to go ASAP.. Koeman should follow him out the door AT THE END OF THE SEASON, if things don’t improve.

i think koeman SHOULD go.he isnt the man for this job. anyone remember dear old claudio ranieri saying more or less the same things ¨yo nunca rindo¨ its always someone elses fault never the manager.he was sacked soon after.ive said it before on here, solers main interest is the new stadium and the money he will make from the deal.from what im hearing the team dont have confidance in ronald.we are in turmoil yet again.

We sure are in trouble.
A caretaker manager would have his hands full trying to keep us from relegation. That’s what worries me more than anything. The pressure of the situation.
As for Soler, I think he bought the team much like American sports owners here in the States buy teams: for the money they can make off the team through stadium deals, etc. He doesn’t care about the team. But watch how fast he skips town if this club goes down the the 2nd Division … REAL fast …

Soler doesnt even go to teh games anymore.
he should leave. lets pray our entire management team is fired and that we geta real pro coaching staff liek Benitez back.
How did our management manage to piss off the best coach we ahve ever had.?
Sick stupid bastards.

man what happened to you Valencia? You guys used to be cool….
My opinions:
1) Above all the fans must come to the stadium and support their club without screaming any insult towards the manager, the president, or the players.
2) Juan Soler’s time is up. New elections must be held.
3) Trust me Koeman is a good manager. Keep him, Valencia is going through a tough time and changing manager’s will only add to the fire. Better to suffer with a good manager then to rot with a shitty one.

Then we should have stuck with Quique. Musab this is the tradition at Valencia. The fans are unhappy and they make it known at the games. The staff, board and mgmt don’t care about the fans at act carelessly. This is the only vehicle the fans have to be heard. The lack of respect and class of this whole situation really bothers the fans and players. We are only 5 points above the drop zone. Very scary.

Cesar,
Man o man, we are on such a rollercoaster ride, its not fun anymore. I cant wait for this season to be over, my nails are soo bitten off, my finger nails are smaller than my toe nails! Anyway, while I respect the career of Koeman the player, I can not say the same about Koeman the coach. Its obvious to all the supporting fans of the club, they need a Central Defender first and then to address every other position second. We all see that Valencia is missing Roberto “el Raton” Ayala.
The combo of Helguera+Alexis is not an adequate substitute for a Roberto Ayala. Bring back David “el hit and run against Inter in the champions league qtr. finals last year” Navarro off loan, then offload Helgura and Arizmendi.Posted from

SOS for Valencia. Soler IS the cancer and he is hiding his fat ass. He disappeared all together.

I disliked keoman as a player and I dislike him as a coach.
Soler and Koeman, leave.
Who will replace Soler though? We’ve got massive debts and we needs someone with cash.

THe main problem is the defense. Miguel is very shit and injured this year. Albiol makes loads of mistakes what usually cost us goals. Helguera, he tries hard but he is just not good. Moretti, i cant see why ppl think he’s good? He cant cross, doesnt support Vicente and so on.
Koeman was a bad signing, no question about that, but the players have also been very very bad. On Sunday, only Maduro wanted to win, he tried very hard, rest of the players weren’t motivated and didn’t want to win like the other team. Villa should go, he doesnt want the paly for valencia anymore.
I aint botherd to write anyway and laugh about players like arizmendi, how many wrong passes can u make in one match?
I just pray we wont drop out the league and there will me huge shake up at the end of the season, beginnning with the president.

Dear Franky,I agree that many many mistakes have been done by Soler lately. But I think that the biggest one is that they sold Aimar. I think hte most important position is central midfielder. Soler sold him to Zaragoza for $ 5 mil.
He even doesn’t play in Zaragoza now. I live Albelda very much, but i think that even if he is out, Aimar could be a good fichage and a good capitan next season. But first of all Soler must be thrown away together with sports manager Miguel Angel Ruiz.Posted from

Hi, from todays Spanish papers. There was a Directors meeting last night.Soler is not resigning but he is going to concentrate on building the new stadium and is handing over to SALOM the control of the sports side.
Salom had a meeting with Koeman and with the board’s support he is giving the trainer full backing.Koeman has been given full control over buying and selling so Ruiz is a backmarker. Wolstein (Communication’s Director)said that Soler is not thinking of giving up the Presidency and he will most certainly not sell his shares. Salom when pressed by the AS journalist confirmed this but says Soler may have to resign if Valencia lose the cup match and the following one against Valladolid.
Abelda is staying in Valencia and has refused many offers from English teams. Canizares is also staying on
but the agent for Angulo says that he is negotiating with an English team (City?) and Angulo will be off before Friday.Well thats what is printed today which goes against the rumours on the web about Mourinho. Take you pick…….Adios…AlmendrosPosted from
