Expect Mata to write some stories linking himself with big clubs this summer. Like all journalists though, he’ll forget to add any quotes.

I cant believe Albiol is still our captain…someone should really send him back to the B team where he belongs.

Anyway im glad Pablo and Mata really played a huge game tonite. Kudos to them and the rest of the team for the hard earned victory. Let’s hope it will pave the way for the team to recover.

You know im not quite sure who is our most pathetic defender, Marchena gets red carded a lot but he doesnt give as many penalties and own-goals as Albiol.

OK! Albiol makes a lot of mistakes. But, he plays for the national’s team. Well, it means nothing (it depends). Senderrors plays for Switzerland but he he rubbish. However,Albiol plays in a team where there are much more competition. So, his place is deserved.
Albiol is a must in our team. He is some sort of a leader. He is tall, strong and versatile. Let him leave to a team like Arsneal, and you’ll say: AHHH, ahould have kept him!

Marchena creates a lot of confusion in our defense. We seem to be better organized when he’s not around. I’d say Albiol is much better.

we’re 5 points behind a CL spot. we’re sharing this spot with Atleti, Depor, and Malaga.

we will be able to Make it if Emery keeps this formation of 4-5-1 . AND IF HE KEEPS ALBIOL AND MARCHENA OUT OF THE TEAM !

by the way, anyone got a link for Albiol – Albelda fight?
i’d love to see Albelda angry again because this captain is shit ! i mean albiol ofc ! haha

Albiol is better, purely because he’s much younger and has time to work out the many, many, many, many faults to his game. He should become a better player than Marchena. Both are extremely average right now though.

I think I agree with Lillo’s last sentence about Marchena and Albiol, “both are extremely average right now”.

IMO, id rather see them BOTH leave Valencia. Trust me I would never wish they stay even if we sell them both for 1ME. Ive lost count of the number of points the duo has cost us this season.

I mean we must not forget that it could have ended 1-1 today. Im extremely happy we won but nevertheless it was not a convincing win at all. We got a man sent off and Albiol gave away a silly penalty in the last minute (!) which we were lucky to see hit the crossbar.

I know we were missing key players today (Joaquin, Miguel, Villa and Silva), but Racing were missing 3 strikers and a left back. Something is still clearly wrong with our team (particularly in our first half display). We should be happy about this win but this isnt a vast improvement over the past few weeks (honestly the main thing that improved was our luck).

Fayez, we haven’t suddenly become the Valencia of old. That is clear. What this win means is that we have gotten over that mental block of not winning and that will give our players a lot of confidence, which they are desperately in need of. Also, the 3 points.

well, It seems that today’s win was due to Racing’s incapacity of scoring goals rather than Valencia’s dominance. About Albiol, I must agree with Lillo.
Marchena too isn’t quite good. He’s like a sort of Gallas that underperforms. At least, Gallas plays well. But, he wasn’t fit to be captain. This is the same like Marchena. The man has no leadership. He lacks discipline. If Emery had the courage to change the captaincy, then I say that it might help a little. A man that is more organized, composed and calm during this huge turmoil is needed and not someone who is hot-headed like Marchena.

I like Albiol. He is in bad form. Put some central midfielders in front of him who will do work and HAVE PACE, along with Miguel and Alexis, and he will be fine next year, if he stays.

Adimente: I think Emery should have the right to change the captain and give the armband to someone like Villa, Baraja or even Vicente (personally id prefer Albelda but after what happened last year I dont know how the squad and fans will take it). The way Albelda told off Albiol yesterday was a clear indication that Albiol is just a hotheaded kid that doesnt know what he is doing. He and Marchena are currently our worst players and have no sense of organization or leadership.

I know Albiol has had a few off games but he is a very good defender, he and alexis forma good partnership and understand, he is making a too many major errors yes i agree but those can all be corrected, whereas Marchena is beyond correction lol that guy is useless, he just fouls, always out of position…Albiol has good heading ability decent pace, decent postioning and strength plus the fans love him as he is a hometown lad,he has great potential and i think he will fuifil it

Hmm we won and we didnt concede….Am i dreaming?

Not sure about Marchena and Abiol. Both play good for Spain, the problem is they only play good for Spain :P

I dont believe its simply that Marchena and Abiol have a few games off though. Our defense has been a mess all season long and last year wasn’t a masterclass on how to defend either…

    Hi lads, what a result …No Silva\no Joaquin\no villa\
No Marchena…No Alexis for the second half. For the benifit of those that didnt see the match it was some of the most biased reffing in favour of Racing that I have seen this year.We had some luck, Racing were firing 6 shots but the first 4 of those went straight to Caesar, he didnt have to move. A minor infringement led to a Penalty against us , which bounced off the crossbar which was lucky as Caesar had already dived looking for it in the grass. But my God we can do with a bit of luck, perhaps Koeman has run out of pins to stick in his dummy of Valencia.
I see the comments about Marchena but no way could Emery take away the Captaincy it would lead to ill feeling, especially when you consider he is playing for Spain. With regards to Albiols making advances on our goal when he gets a chance, and in view of the lack of fit players perhaps he could be tried out in midfield and he can have a go at the opponents goal. Getafe in 2 weeks… time to recover some of our injured so lets hope the morale is raised. I would like to note this is the first time for a long while that Fernandes came on from the kick-off
and STAYED ON. perhaps Emery will get the message..Adios
