Let’s Get to Know Each Other

Our season sucks. Big surprise.
In the year I’ve written the blog, we’ve assembled a nice little community of people that come on here. I’ve even had the privilege of meeting some of you (Daniel, Timothy Lakefront).
I’m still working on the penya (harder than I thought) and some other things, but in the interest of community building (and to make us forget our absolute sh*t season), I’ve knicked this idea from Corey of the Real Madrid blog who knicked it from some guy named Chris who probably knicked it from some big time journalist … blah blah blah … the point being, we answer the questions and get to know more about ourselves and our love of Valencia CF.
I’ll begin! Enjoy the diversion from our miserable campaign …

7.) David Villa or Piojo? – Piojo went through stretches where he’d miss the side of a house if it were 5 feet in front of him. Claudio had the Arizmendis … I’d say Villa Villa Maravilla.
8.) Aimar or Banega? – I think Banega will come into his own in time (if he lays off the porn and the booze) … he’s a special player …
9) Canizares or Zubizaretta? – Canizares.
10.) Least favorite player of all time, past or present? – Gonzalo De Los Santos, because he sucked.
11.) Do you have a second club? – Yes …
12.) One player right now you would add to your team, past or present, dead or alive? – Hmm … Kaka.
13.) One football dream you wish to see in your lifetime? – Easy. Valencia winning the Champions League …
14.) Most prized football possession? – Subway folder from the 2001 Champions League final. Oh … and Superdeporte issues from the run to the 2002 title … Oh!! … and posters from the 1982 Spain World Cup … beautiful artwork.
I own about 30 Valencia kits as well …
15.) Finally, who is the best player in the world right now? – Easy … Ivan Helguera … (ok, it’s really Cristiano Ronaldo … but I can dream, no?)

Other Clubs are fughting for the CL and my club… well… banega is cought drunk,,, ALbelda is suing the club… m.fernandes went to jail…plus the fact that we have crapy players like Arizmendi and Ivan hilgera and Morretti! please tell me how can we succeed with all that!!!

1.) All time World Cup moment? 2002 Qtr. Final USA 2 v. Mexico 1…What an amazing game. The day USA became born into a contender. 2:00AM the entire family & friends gathered around to watch, support split into the team from our family homeland and our new adopted country. Unforgettable.
2.) One match in the history of Valencia you wish you had attended? Last year’s CL game return leg against Inter Milan at Valencia, when they chased Navarro off the field for sucker punch.
3.) One scoreline you wish you could reverse for your favorite team? After Quique Sanchez Flores last game as manager was a 3-0 to Sevilla, the next game they lost to Real Madrid 5-1. I didn’t want to talk to any of my friends for over a week.

Franky… ur pathetic!… i dont no why u cretisize cesar that much?! neways… Koeman is the man,, we are playing very well. but the players need to perform!!! what can koeman do when he has shitty players like EDU and HILGUERA AND ALBIOL.. people will tell me well albiol is good… he day dreams in the field way more than he should! where was he in the second goal? People you know why Banega is a great player? because he is the only player that ALWAYS want to attack.. he always passes the ball forward… most of our players they pass it backwards or to the wings! plus our players are simply slow in thier counter attacks! They always give time for the apponent defence to be in thier places . and then they try to attack when its harder! i would give Koeman a year.. id realy wana see who hed kick out of the team. cuz the team needs repair! 1 Striker! and 1 forward midfielder. and 3 good defenders.. and get GOMES from PSV.. hilderbrand;s mistakes are deadly!!!

a.) Cesar does a good job for us..Unlike some of the other bloggers on this site, Cesar write frequently, and I appreciate that. What i was saying in my message was, Hey Cesar, “we know your busy,(or maybe dont feel like writing it)and you might be too busy to cut and paste, so why not try and let one of us help you out. Why not have a guest blogger once? Maybe letting a reader of this blog be selected and let them try and write an article on the team once? Thats all, I was getting at.
He got us all to fill out that questionairre and that was fun. Cesar probably didnt expect so many responses I assume.Ali, to your second point…
I dont like Koeman as the man in charge of the squad. He is in a results based business and he has not produced results. Our Champions League chances are slipping away with each and every point. He(Koeman) has not produced, improved results or changed the club to move up the table. He should be fired.

1.) All time World Cup moment? – Apologies to the Americans here, but it would have to be USA 1 Iran 2, at the 1998 World Cup. However, if you asked me about the All time European Cup moment, it would of course be the amazing Yugoslavia 3 Spain 4 in Bruges in 2000, when Spain came back from losing 3-2 to score two goals in injury time, winning the match 3-4 thanks to Mendieta’s level-headed no-nonsense penalty.
2.) One match in the history of Valencia you wish you had attended? – Would have to be that 6-0 v Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey semifinal in 1999.
3.) One scoreline you wish you could reverse for your favorite team? – The penalty shootout in the CL final against Bayern Munich. Walking around Milan afterwards was horrible, far worse than Paris the previous year.

2.) One match in the history of Valencia you wish you had attended? The King’s Cup Final in 1999, Atletico Madrid v. Valencia CF 0-3. (In fact I would have liked to be at ALL of Valencia’s matches of the 1998-1999 season; watching them on TV, it was clear that something extraordinary was going on in La Liga.) Mendieta’s goal in the 33rd minute made him a household name in Spain, Luis Milla added a feather to his cap, and Valencia became a force to be reckoned with.
3.) One scoreline you wish you could reverse for your favorite team? 3-0 Real Madrid v. Valencia in the 2000 Champion’s League Final, as it would have been one less trophy for Madrid.
4.) Five favorite players for your favorite team, past or present? – Miroslav Djukic, Jocelyn Angloma, Gaizka Mendieta, David Silva, Faas Wilkes
