I, for one, welcome our new wealthy overlords.

By: Javier | August 24th, 2009

Well here they are. Valencia Cf’s new owners.

The ampliacion de capital is now in full momentum and these are the partners who have formed the non profit group called The Valencia CF foundation. They have the backing of Mayor Rita Barbera’s municipal government and alot of cash from local valencian businesses and groups.

today they were approved for a 75 million euro loan to their foundation in order to buy all the remaining shares during the next phase of share sales.

That will mean that buy the time its over the foundation will control 72.5% of the club. Effectively ending the chances of the club falling to foreign ownership or under the control of a single individual.

While this action effectively ends any chance for anyone else to get in on the action during this phase, the Foundation said in a statement it planned to make shares available to those who had not been able to take part in the initial phase of the capital increase.

“At last the club is being returned to the Valencia fans,” Llorente said.

So is this good or bad?

From my perspective its very good. Why ? Several reasons.

First. Stability.

No Colombian drug lord slash lingerie salesman as our owner. Im sure all of you just like myself had a bad feeling about Dalport from the get go. The coloring book logo, the 80s shades, the lack of any proof they existed. Lets just call it unsettling.

Now that time has past. We have a foundation of Valencians in charge of Valencia CF. Go figure.

Second Reason .. Cash … Moolah… Dinero.

The Valencia Foundation is not directly tied to Valencia CF.. therefore their debt is not our debt. Valencia Cf gets a nice investment of 75 Million euroes.

That Cash could not have come at a more opportune time. The stadium will now be finished. Our players will now be paid. And our stars will stay right here at home in Valencia. We also have bought time for our old mestalla parcels to be sold once this economy recovers.

“From this point a new era of stability begins and the players can concentrate fully on their game,” Llorente said. “We have saved a very difficult and worrying situation.”

This also has one other grand effect in stabilizing the club.

Now Llorente will remain president.

No more Jabba the Hutt.

No more Soriano and his sneaky backroom deals.

Llorente will be our president and stay that way.

For the most part i believe he is doing a good job. He saved us from Dalport, he restarted work on the stadium, he organized a group of investors to buy up shares and in my opinion has at least for now done all he promised to do. Save our beloved club from financial ruin and keep our stars home.

So Long live the reign of Llorente.

May it be title filled and Silver trophy lined.

Amunt Valencia

I do like him, great player, Candian too haha but with our situation and my liking of Banega i would rather stick with him and as Fayez said hopefully he stays put til Jan or we make some sort of agreement with him…stay here and in Jan/June we will definately come of you etc….Less than a week to go, hopefully no one snaps him up

Thankfully for Valencia that De Guzman was injured all year, cause if he wasnt he would have cost 15+ Million by now. Feyenoord need money, he only has one year left, i think they would accept a 6 million bid for a player which is the Feyenoord-version of Sneijder and which is NO money for such qualities. And i dont need to remind u how good that dude is.

So lets not wait, next year we wont get him cause better teams will be wanting him for sure, so get him now. But i agree, Banega is awesome as well and he and Fernandes have our future. So lets give Feyenoord Nacho Gonzalez and maybe 4 million (plus Miku on loan?), fair deal i’d say plus we get rid of some surplus players.

    @Tristan

Sorry, but I preferred Phil Ball’s writing on La Liga. Sid Lowe seems to write the same column week after week, year after year (e.g. mentioning that colchoneros means “mattress makers”, Lopera is nutty, Del Nido has an ego problem, etc.). He certainly suffers in comparison to Honigstein or Bandini, and hasn’t shown any love for Valencia lately (especially on the Guardian podcast). Of course, Lowe is the most knowledgeable at the moment, but that says a lot about the lamentable state of La Liga coverage in the U.K.

    @ kat
I read the Dutch media as well and they quote the agent of the player stating that Valencia are seriously interested but are out of money so the only possibility of Valencia signing De Guzman is a sale of Banega. Which in our case wont happen. But, maybe we can work out some deal…? Btw Feyenoord signed their replacement for De Guzman already from Nantes called Babovic, expecting De Guzman to be sold before Monday.

I’d love both Banega and De Guzman in our squad but it seems very doubtful because they need something we do not have…MONEY! so a players in exchange deal will not mean much to them, but you never know….As long as Banega stays i am happy…but would love De Guzman too…oh well beggers cannot be choosers

I live in Canada half the year.
Trust me. Stay in bloody England.
Canada is cold and so are their people. Valencia makes you feel like you died and went to heaven.
If it were not for having family here i would leave and never come back. I dont blame him for wanting to play for the netherlands. The netherlands has a great team and make it to tournaments. Playing for Canada he would get to lose to every team except Barbados… if barbados was having a bad day.

oh ok.. but i would hate to see banega go.. especially for 7m.. and if he sets right his temperament we would have a very useful player.. i just saw villarreal signed as many as 4 palyers from brazil and argentine leagues this transfer season..

But its a bit weird, cause Banega is far more a DMF than De Guzman is, so why should we sell Banega to get De Guzman, is that purely a financial thing? Cause thanks to the capital increase we got 18-20 million, cant we work out a deal like i stated before? Nacho + 4 million, even throw in Miku. 4 million for Feyenoord is a shitload of money, there dept is seriously peanuts compared to ours (i thought not more than 21 million euros…) and a budget of around 38 million.

Yeah I agree with Johnnie….I think we can give them 4ME + Nacho + Miku both on a permanent deal (let’s not forget Miku is already 24). I dont see any reason why they wouldnt agree on that. Trust me de Guzman would be world-class in a couple of years. Plus he can provide something both Manuel and Banega cant provide : loads of goals.

I now read their debt is around 17 million, some other say 21 million. Come on Valencia, get rid of those 2 players and get De Guzman, cause exactly Fayez; he gives us goals!!! We could even play a 3-man midfield sometimes than with De Guzman-Fernandes-Banega, or the latter 2 a bit back and De Guzman more offensive. But i think this will not happen unfort, even the sale is a long shot…

Jaume Part, president of the Penyas of VCF, has spoken out about the capital increase and Dalport. Interesting, he states Soler (no shit) and Soriano were only interested in personal gain. Now for the first one its obvious (Soler isnt even smart enough to play with Lego…) but Soriano, well some would disagree (not me)…

kyle, ive never seen the site before but i was sent the link as its the werstest ( just so you all know its me ) tackle in history,it was shown on spanish tv last night.

sid lowe is quality, the dogs bollocks of a journo.most football pundits in the uk would rather go down on fergies mum than dare write anything against the big four.hes a refreshing change.

young walker, at the risk of repeating myself i think soriano was well intentioned but utterly clueless and out of his depth.he got taken for a million of his own pasta in a property scam so he is without doubt a sandwich short of a picnic.

soler on the other hand is like subtitles on a porno film …….fucking pointless

Soriano imo was desperate to be important by any means necessary and do shady deals with shady people.

In valencia he got conned by a old man into putting a down payment in cash for a building that wasnt even for sale.
That should give you some insight into his character and intelligence.

Why didnt i hear of this scamming story before? Maybe thats why he was never laughing, what a f*cking idiot haha!

Just for the record, i only watch porno movies for the story, but sometimes the storyline doesnt come (out) well and u really get deep into the character cause of the intense physical acting, so these subtitles are more than welcome to clarify things!

The thing about watching La Liga here in the US is that, before, only GolTV had the La Liga rights, but I guess, they were losing money, so they decided to sell part of their TV rights to ESPN.
ESPN and GolTV will alternate between important games, and i think both will air El Clasico. I’m not sure how many GolTV airs, but ESPN deportes and ESPN2 will air 100+ la liga and copa del rey matches(mostly on ESPN deportes.)
Depending on what company you get your internet from, you can watch most if not all of the ESPN deportes games live on ESPN360.com for free. If not, theres always the Internet.

Javier de Roque: You live in Canada? Well, I don’t know a lot abut Canada. It’s cold during winter, true, but the summers are humid. Then, they drink a lot. The most important thing, it’s the fact that they are right next to the States. I’m guessing that the “Canadians are cold people” is a little less true. Well, I don’t know… I live in Québec :D which is why I put sometimes accent on some of my letters because I usually write in French. In Quebec, people are not bad, they are open minded and… unfortunately, they don’t know a lot about football…They call it soccer so…:D Anyway, I’m surprised to learn this from you. Interesting….
