Ali but if you look at it those 8 games were spread over something like 14 years. Maritimo are not European regulars so that record is not that important. but Portugese teams are know for having well organized packed defenses so i expect that Valencia will spend most of the match trying to break down Maritimo.

56, “Che que Bo” means “the Che are good” and is a common cheer for when a Valencian person or organization has done well.

Pablito!!! I recall running around the house at that time. We really need to revamp our midfield. It Doesn’t make sense having world class striker (Villa) and second stiker/ attacking midfielder/winger (Silva) without a deceptive player like Aimar was and good support in the defensive midfield area. We need to build.

i just read that maritimo has lost only 1 game out of 7 in european football, thy lost 1-0 against juventus… thier staduim only has the capacity of 9000 ppl, so i think if each one of us in this blog got his family and close friends tothe game we could fill up thier staduim lol!

I was at that game, and Valencia were extremely impressive.

In my opinion, the best game was on San Siro (even it finished 2:2), Silva scored that terrific goal in Julio Cesar net. I was so happy when he scored that goal. ^^

Hi, just to keep you up to date, Silva has been successfully operated on. The problem was a rare one, it was an extra bone growth on the end of the tibia bone and this has caused some inflamation for the past year. It has been scraped away and Silva should be back in 3 months.
The game tonight is against a very lowly team from Madeira and as Caesar has pointed out,they have already lost their first 2 matches. I think it is an oportunity to rest Villa. He is missing a lot of shots and could do with a break, ready for the Liga in 3 days time.We have enough talent with Pablo, Morientes,Angulo,Joaquin and Zigic to provide an attacking force to take care of tonights match. The Valencia four that went to the Eurocopa have had a hard season and this has to be thought of…Amunt, Almendras

4-1 against Lazio is one of my fave UCL moments because it was the very first time I watched Valencia play, and I instantly fell in love.

Aimar’s goal above, and the 5 goal thrashing of Sturm Graz are also up there.

@ Quin: That’s quite the exaggeration Quin. Aimar didn’t really fit into the system QQ had going back then so I understand the technical reasons for selling him at the time. He’s still one of my all time favourite players for sure.
