Enough!
By: Cesar | August 4th, 2008
The endless transfer rumors do my head in. Honestly, haven’t they gotten out of hand the past few years? From Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham’s hilarious annoyance of a few years ago to Cristiano Ronaldo’s supposed slavery this summer, haven’t we had enough? (Common thread here? Real Madrid … hmm …)
How long can we talk about Ronaldo’s move to Real Madrid, David Villa and David Silva being shipped to better teams and Rafael Van Der Vaart’s move to the Spanish capital? (By the way, the man who flaunted a Valencia shirt last year because it was his ‘dream move’ went to Real Madrid today. Lesson learned? Never believe a footballer.)
I don’t know. The endless speculation used to be great fun for me.
Now? I’m bored silly. I’d rather just watch some football.
Besides, how many times do we need to hear this?
“I have not come to give peace of mind because there is already calm,” said president Vicente Soriano. “That is what we have sent to the coaches. We should not repeat things every day.
“We’ve already said we do not want to lose Silva and Villa. We want them to stay with us and negotiations with them are a reality.”
Ok, so mark that down friends. We’re not selling our stars.
Please … no more about these two!
If one wanted to watch football and lived in Valencia or Germany, one could have watched our beloved lose a not-so-close encounter, 4-2 to Borussia Monchengladbach (try saying that three times …).
Borussia didn’t look intimidated as Rob Friend netted twice and Gal Albermann added a third to give them a 3-1 lead at the interval.
Marko Marin added a fourth in the second half as Borussia warmed up well for the upcoming Bundesliga season and made it a difficult day for German goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand in the Valencia goal.
Tall striker Nicola Zigic netted in the 24th minute as did Mata in the 80th.
Overall, not a great performance. But take these results (like all transfer rumors these days) with a grain of salt. Villa, Silva and Marchena didn’t play. That’s just for starters.
It’s pre-season … no need for over reactions to this loss …
Our first real game isn’t for another 2 weeks, against Van Der Vaart’s Real Madrid in the Supercopa. Let’s see what Unai Emery can conjure up by this time.
One thing Emery’s had to deal with, besides something like 5 different bosses in the 2 months he’s been here, is a glut of transfers. Like … are we ever going to get anyone new here? Or for that matter, get rid of the 5,678 midfielders currently under contract?
One thing we now know is that former captain David Albelda is staying. Finally, some closure on that chapter …
Personally, I’m very happy about this. He was treated like dog food through most of last season under putrid excuse-of-a-coach Ronald Koeman. Although he wasn’t at his best at the time of the ostracizing, the man didn’t deserve the punishment he got.
Now, he knows he’s wanted and that he’s not going anywhere.
Who out there thinks the only reason he’s staying is because no one wanted to pay for his services? I’m just saying …
Anyways, glad he’s back. Glad we’re playing competitive football under a man whose prepared and eager to make this team better.
Glad the season’s about to start, because I can’t deal with the Cristiano Ronaldo/Villa/Silva muppet show much longer … let’s play some footie, already!!

I dont think if VDV held a Valencia shirt! and then Valecia didnt realy try to sign him or dint pay enuf that means he cant go to any other club! hes a player and we all know tht Real Madrid are a huge club! We cant say we cant believe him! i blame valencia not the player! at the end hes a player and he wants to play in a better club!
As for Albelda… i dont know, never loved this guy but hey a lot of things arnt going like we like in our beloved!Posted from

you really don’t know what’s gonna happen… yea,, transfers never been more boring than this summer.. Adebayor, the Slave, VdV, Silva and Villa, Arshavin, really.. enough…
what bother me more that the players we wanted were taken by either Madrid or Atletico.. remember Forlan, Luis Garcia .. now we’re crying for not moving for them..
andi can’t understand that QQ didn’t want Sneijder.. it really amazes me that our management is this stupid.. i don’t think that there is a more stupid management..

Ecstatic that Albelda is staying, the team is of a noticeably different class when he’s in the squad. Even at times when his personal form leaves much to be desired, he instills that combative attitude to the midfield that made us the stingiest defence in Europe. IMO we still need an Ayala replacement to add Albelda’s equivalent grit and steel to the backline. Not taking anything away from Alexis, Marchena or Albiol, but I still think we lack a world class CB

I’ve heard Albelda compared to Puyol a lot, and I think it’s a fair comparison - not your best player, a liability at times even, but a leader figure and I hope he makes the most of his second chance. Good luck, you guys need it, though if you have to let go of Silva he’s more than welcome in Barcelona!

Guys, its not valenicias fault for not signing vdv, it was just in hamburgs hands coz they didnt want vdv to leave.

ya it is valencia’s fault cz they r cheap with the right choices and are generous with the wrong choices! manuel fernandes and zigic! and the likes of hilguera in the team! we could easily land Drogba for gods sake with both of M.Fernandes and zigic’s money and tempt him more with the salery of the three of them combined! at least we’d have a force on the tip of the field tht no one could ever stop! and the same goes with VDV and sniejder!! they r bad with choices! the zip up the pockets when they shouldnt and zip down the pockets when they shouldtn.. who to blame other than the manegment! (valencia)

I agree with Ali, Žigić, Fernandes, Helguera…For example, Žigić costs Valencia more than van der Vaart costs Real, but who is better player? And fernandes, who did nothing. Helguera, he’s a blow. I mean, if he couldn’t play in Real, why he should be good for us? Get rid of him and others, like Žigić, Fernandes, Viana…and sign one or maybe two great players! Than we’ll see what Valencia is!!

hey guys, I’m gonna be staying at the Tudor hotel in NY for the next 5 months and am really looking forward to meet you, maybe we could get together for a Valencia game…. Btw, I hope red bull can beat the crap outta Barca; ((I know it’s almost impossible but I like to dream hehe)

You missed out on a great signing based on internal turmoil Cesar, which is bad because I feel your pain. But we have all been there, first it was the Van Gaal years at Barca, then the Florentino Perez guy ruining everything good at Real, now its Soler bringing down Valencia then leaving it for dead. We must not also forget that Depor is no longer Super Depor thanks to their heavy debts, or that Betis is completely crippled thanks to the interference of Lopera, even after they challenged in the CL not to long ago. Get the infrastructure right and you will be a winner again, until then, its agony every day.

if they r going to pay his money to a bank or smthing then i rather he stays, but if they r gona use it to buy pllayers, i would like him to go for 40 m. i use to say buy huntelaat andVDV well now VDV is gone for 14m!! we could get arteta and huntelaar and a great centeral defence with his money!

So my dad bought me a black valencia jersey today.. god its sweet.. no name on the back cause who knows who will still be here by season start.
Also this just in You know how much our one week CEO cost 10 Million. he got ten million euros for haning out in valencia for a week then getting sacked. And yet we cant get a decent player. The only reason we are in the financial crunch is because of Our owners Soler screwed us bad. Its really a pity we arent publically owned by the fans.
VDV could be in a VFC black jersey like me right now but instead Soler gave 10 million to some ex telefonica guy. Hope soler at least got free ADSL out of it.
Well thats all from now just depressing news every day. Personally i think that we should have sold Albelda.. he is past his glory days but instead we dragged him through the dirt to make him sue the club now nobody will give us the good money.

Yes, if they’ll use that money for players, ok. Hunteelar would be great replacement for Villa, and one more player could be bought. They want to sign goalie Moya from Mallorca, am I crazy or what if I think that Ustari is much better?
