David Villa is NOT Robinho
By: Cesar | September 4th, 2008
Yesterday, we heard from Valencia president Vicente Soriano, who said he never considered Real Madrid’s bid for Valencia star striker David Villa.
In light of Robinho’s recent transfer from the sunny shores of Madrid to the rainy heartland of Manchester, crying, whining and causing a scene the entire way, I saw it fit to revisit the near transfer of our star David Villa one last time.
Here, Villa in his own words.
“I would never do to Valencia what Robinho has done to Madrid, because I’m grateful to the club for everything they have done for me,” Villa said. “I don’t want to criticize Robinho because I don’t know his situation, but I wouldn’t have done it.”
Villa also claimed he never had any intention of leaving Valencia despite the list of big names being linked to him. He insists he left the club to deal with the entire transfer saga, and says the fact they chose not to sell him in spite of their financial difficulties showed him how much he was worth to his employers.
“I was never going to force Valencia to let me go,” Villa said. “I feel great here, I owe so much to Valencia and it was always the club’s decision. I stayed out of the way.”
Real Madrid made two huge bids before the transfer window closed, but Villa stated that he knew he had made the right choice to stay when the club turned them down.
“I was really very happy when Valencia rejected the offer, not because it meant I could not join Real Madrid, but because it was a true gesture of confidence and I felt really wanted,” he continued.
“They preferred me to stay than to take all that money. Valencia valued me very highly.
“My word is worth more than anything else and I accepted the offer of a new contract by telephone at 1pm and by 6pm I have signed it and it was all finished.
“I thought about many things throughout it all, but when I received the offer of a renewal from Valencia I realized how much I was wanted and said yes.
“Of course, I thought about what would happen if they said yes or no, but I was never going to force Valencia to let me leave. I am very happy here and I owe the club a lot for their decision.”
A true gentleman … You’re awesome, El Guaje.
One more note: David Silva is out for at least 2 weeks and one UEFA Cup game with an ankle knock. Not good news, but what can we do?
Here’s a good time to utilize Vicente and maybe Mata in the wing. I think we’ll be fine, regardless of what goal.com might want you to believe …

Bad news from the Valencian camp, Silva will be out for nearly 3 months since the VCF doctors decided to not to take any chances and perform surgery to restore the strength and health of Silva anckle.

Ouch! 3 months! tht is a lot! and he will need time to adapt after the three months, so the first half of the season letts role without silva!
Banega seems very happy in atletico (U)! they seem to make him feel at home and they seem to no his worth! smthing sadly valencia didnt do. hes like its great here and im gona show them what im worth and im not the banega i was in valencia??? OUCH OUCH!!!Posted from

Oh no, Silva out for 3 months. Just when he’s hitting top form. I hope the merry go round of injuries for players won’t start again.
Benaga has a few of his countrymen in Atleti. He should be happy and show his potential. I like him a lot in Boca. Ever is the only good move Koeman did for Valencia. Too bad Unai didn’t give him a chance.

It’s probably better for Ever’s development that he play at Atletico this season. He’d become better than he would have sitting on our bench and observing. At his age regular play is what he needs, what would be really shitty is if he doesn’t get that while at Atletico this season

Does anybdy feel that dr. giner graduated cheating and that he knows shitt!! vicente was great to show how stupid he was and now silva is another victim of him! i dnt no why would they stickk to a stupid doctor!

Silva will miss as many as 16 of Valencia’s games I guess Angulo or Mata can be the playmaker. Angulo used to cover for Aimar so i guess he could do the job. It will be Hard work but Valencia should be fine.
Ali, Miguel Frasquet is the person you are talking about Dr. Giner does not work for Valencia, he only does consultations when Valencia’s doctor needs a more skilled second opinion.
Daniel, Banega’s time at Valencia is over if Atletico don’t buy him Valencia will sell him to another club. Ignacio Gonzalez has already been picked as Baraja’s successor and will get Baraja’s starting spot next season. So like this season there will be no space for Banega at Valencia next season.Posted from

Ali, Valencia are not the only team to see ignacio gonzales as a player with talent, he also spent last season on loan at Monaco but he got injured and eventually returned home which allowed Valencia to sign him in the summer.

Hi, Javier, the team actually was Armenia but it was a good example of football and at least 6 goals would have been a truer result. The under 21 against Russia the night before was a good match. They are 9 points the leader and will go on to the next stage. Mata and Sisi(now Recreativo) were playing.
Ali….You are right to be worried about injuries.Starting this weekend Valencia are in for 5 Liga matches and 2 Uefa in 21 days. We will be lucky to go through such a heavy period without some losses. We will be thankful in the end we didnt sell Joaquin.Morientes and Angulo. A pity Gavilan was sold to Getafe (only 2 and half million) we may have needed him to cover for Vicente who I am sure will not last. This crazy cramming is just to satisfy that hungry TV God in the sky and more money for Blatter and his buddies.

VILLA MARAVILA NON-STOP. The kid is possessed I tell you. And with our boy Villa on fire like this. Real Madrid will probably start their farce gimme gimme gimme villa in the winter transfer window again with their “money will get me everything” ethic.
