David Villa is Gone
By: Cesar | June 18th, 2009In case you didn’t know, David Villa confirmed his desire to play for Real Madrid next season following Spain’s 1-0 victory over Iraq yesterday … have a listen.
Here’s what El Guaje said.
“I want to play for Real Madrid. I am a Merengue. I suck.”
Ok, he didn’t say that in so many words.
What he did say (more or less) was that he was calm in South Africa because he’s made a decision and his agent knows what that decision is and is working hard on it.
Now if he was staying with Our Beloved, why the F*CK would his agent need to be working hard?!?
His agent would be sipping daiquiris in Cape Town, watching the matches along with the rest of us or scouting new talent. His agent wouldn’t need to do anything … he renewed his contract with VCF last year and all is well.
Am I right or correct here?
I think what we got in yesterday’s ambiguous comments from Villa yesterday was confirmation of what we all didn’t want to hear.
Somewhere deep down in my heart, I thought maybe – just maybe – Villa would stay with us. 2% of me thought he might stay, might enthrall us with goals, his scoring acumen, his grace and resilience and his emo mood swings when he played against Sporting Gijon.
I was wrong. As MARCA would say it, ‘David Villa ya es del Madrid.’
Here’s his goal from yesterday’s match.
I’m gutted over Villa.
But it is what it is. I learned a long time ago that professional sports wasn’t about loyalty and all that happy-go-lucky bull sh*t. It was about the money. Nothing but the money.
VCF doesn’t have it. Madrid does (exactly how is another question).
If you were Villa, what would you do?
I wish him the best …

On a hopefully brighter note, anybody got a link to the USA-Brazil game? I’m dying at work, and I don’t want to have to sneak down the gym to watch parts of it.

Why do you assume he is talking about Madrid? He could just as easily be talking about Barca. In fact last i read the Barca offer is actually better than the RM offer. Not that it would make any difference to Valencia fans, im sure it stings either way.

Timothy, a bunch of links on http://rojadirecta.com/
And who else could he be talking about BUT Madrid? Barca made a half-handed offer. He doesn’t want to go abroad.
Who else but Madrid? Gijon? Deportivo?
No, Madrid.Posted from

Cmon guys how many times did we hear Villa state that he wants to stay at Valencia? He’s practically been saying that every week for the past few months! Its Valencia that want to sell him.
I mean the guy is basically being forced out of the club…

Uggh. What a piece of shit. Really.
On another note, anyone watching this USA-Brazil ‘game’?
Soccer has no chance in this country … the national team is abysmal. True, we’re playing Brazil. But still … no creativity, no pace, no hope … uggh.Posted from

Brazil 3 United States 0
Shots – Brazil 20 – United States 9
Shots on Target – Brazil 11 – United States 2
Possesion – Brazil 59% – United States 41%WTF is Dempsey doing? I hate all the tricks he tries to do. He thinks he is fucking Ronaldinho or something. BENCH DEMPSEY!
Everyone was bad. Terrible performence. Enough said. Yeah, we hit the crossbar twice, but we didn’t deserve to score…

@Cesar, are you coming to DC for the RM game?

@ Bane.
It doesn’t really say anything. Just that people can buy shares starting July 8 through August 21. You can do it through the official Valencia website or you can call this number (if you speak Spanish I imagine): 902 63 61 61.

I might buy a few shares.

@Timothy, I may. Not sure yet.
The Madrid group here is going, but buying the $90 seats and I’m not willing to pay that much to see them. How much did you pay?Posted from

Nithin, just as a side note, Kaka was in a very similar situation to David Villa. After his transfer to Madrid he even came as far as to stick his neck out and admit that he moved to Madrid because AC Milan wanted to sell him, and that he would have preferred to stay at Milan if it was up to him. He also said that his main intention in moving to Madrid was to help AC Milan (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=653569&cc=5901, http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2009/0609/kaka.html). If you ask me, I’d say Kaka and Villa have been presented with very similar situations.

Thz Kyle, thats why I asked you to translate,I understand that thing you wrote, but I thought there were some other interesting information.I wanted to know because I want to buy few shares, and I don’t know how to do that.

@Cesar, I paid around $60. You should definitely roll. We’ll have a good time.

Do not compare our beloved David with Dookie. Seriously, the man did what he was capable of doing.
Move along folks, he’ll be (at least) in my memory as player who pointed on Valencia badge. That moment, is far more than money could buy.Posted from

on the bright side, we can watch kaka team up with villa to do amazing stuff, and still watch ronaldo get schooled by messi.
no one can ever hate a player like villa, sporting gijon fans never did, and i don’t think any vcf fans would bear a grudge with him after the tireless week in and week out as the solo hitman upfront.

everyone should buy shares.valencia have millions of fans, so a helpful amount of money can be gathered.
i’ll try that too!!!!!!!AMUNT!!!!!!!

i feel your pain, Cesar. it hurts when they leave, but at least valencia will get some silly money for this transfer. live to fight another day!

Im pretty sure the choice will be Barca. Just wait and see

I think Valencia doesn’t need that amount of money after selling Albiol ..
we have got Moya and there is another 10 millions in addition to the money that we will get when we sell Miguel , Moretti , Banega , Zegech , Hugo Viana and even Juaquin ..
so selling Villa is not necessary ..
