Congrats

We here at the Valencia CF blog would like to extend our warmest and sincerest congratulations to old friend and former Che boss Rafa Benitez and Liverpool for their victory last night in the Champions League semi-finals.
Nice work and good luck in Athens!
But just remember: If it had been us, we’d be celebrating and not you! (How’s that for creating some controversy?)
Anyways, congratulations. And condolences to Chelsea, who played with guts and heart through a tough 120+ minutes. They’re running on fumes now. It’s going to take every ounce of strength for them to pull together and make a run at the FA Cup and Premiership. A promising season is slowly slipping away. They’re classy fans and we here wish them the best, even though they tore our hearts out and snacked on them in front of us.
****
And so we move on, from England to Iberia where we pick up a copy of Real Madrid mouthpiece MARCA to read that David Villa’s happy at Valencia.
Before your eyes tear up and you yawn uncontrollably at this latest bit of breaking news, here’s what El Guaje had to say:
‘I am very happy and plan to be here in Valencia for a long time. But as my agent said, everything will be sorted out next summer. (Zzzzzzzzzzzz ….)
My intention is to be focused on my team in the next the six games and when the Liga finishes then my representative will tell me what is really going on.’ (YAWN)
Really, if you have nothing to say, don’t talk.
This is like the doublespeak George Orwell talks about in his novel 1984.
‘So basically, you’re happy at Valencia? Good! And you’re focused on getting us into Europe next season? Awesome!
Oh, what’s that? We’ll talk in the summer time? Oh, what about? You just said you were happy, no? Huh? What?’ Where? WHY? HOW? UGH!!
Suffice to say we’re preparing for the worst. Villa’s leaving, folks. You read it here first.
And as mind-numbingly boring as it is to talk about, what do we do without our best player?
What does the future hold?
Can we possibly replace this guy?
I need to take a nap.
