A draw was a good result, not what I wanted, but then I'm pretty happy with it.
You've got to keep in mind that Valencia just went through a lot last season, and this is like a fresh start. I think the players are doing exceptionally well considering the fact that they would've lost badly not too long ago.
This is just the beginning Ali. We need to give them some time.
Besides, Almeria isn't such a mediocre team anymore. It's strong, it's got young players, had a great coach last season, and now they are really determined and optimistic.
Not having a few of our main players and still leaving with a draw is great.

Ali if Almeria are playing at home and are at full strength and played the top 20 teams in europe only loose about 3 games Almeria will probably finish 6th this year if nobody gets injured. La Liga is the Strongest league in Europe and no team even on top form can beat every team in La Liga. Real Madrid, Barca, Sevilla, Atletico Villarreal.... none of them will win away to Almeria this season.

You're missing the point Ali, the team was not at full strength, which forced some tactical changes that did not quite work out. I think we all agree that a FULL STRENGTH Valencia should beat Almeria, but given the adjustments that had to be made and the fact that we fell behind twice, a draw is a good result. Inter Milan drew their opening game away to Sampdoria. The most hardcore Interistas I know thought it was a good result because Sampdoria has a great record at home, and I don't think it's a stretch of the imagination to say that Almeria isn't very far behind Sampdoria in terms of quality. The individual cost of a player is irrelevant, the quality in the squad is what counts.

if a draw satisfies u guys, it doesnt satisfy me..we have quality in our team, we have millions! The price of david villa would prolly buy the whole club of almeria! and his president would give u a lap dance as a bonus!! who u kidding guys,, if we r satisfied with drawing against almeria then then how ambitous would we be if we meet real madrid. 2-0 loss would make u guys happy with tht kind of ambition for a team like valencia! what would u think if inter milan played against almeria??? the way i think is tht we were able to beat inter milan and roma in champoins league with the same players.. how would is it that we beat inter and inter 99% of the time would beat almeria... beating those teams and and being in the same league as them then drawing with almeria is a big dissapointment for me!

Renan was too nervous. But it's normal for a new and young goalkeeper like him. He has to be given more chances to prove himself. The midfield was suck in the first half, but after Emery introduced Miguel Angel Angulo and Fernando Morientes in the second half, it became better. The defence and midfield cannot cope with the speed of Pablo Piatti, especially. But once again Villa proved himself to be the best striker in the world. He proved that if you are just one second forget about him, he can punish you. That's exactly what he did yesterday when he slotted home cooly to the far post. He has great accuracy in his shot. Anyway, I'm quite pleased with this result, because we only played well for about 20 minutes in the game, and Almeria are not a bad team either, so 2-2 is a good result, especially when that result put us in the second position in the league, only behind Espanyol, whom on paper, we should be able to beat.

I agree John, Mata shudn't be paired up front with Villa.. we need somebody who can hold up the ball and lay it off well, as well as someone who is a clinical finisher for the balls that Villa lays off for him too. In a perfect world we'd clone Villa, call him Dave and give him a #77 shirt. Barring that, who could we get that embodies all these qualities?

the only reason that game drew was because Renan had a horrible night goalkeeping. it was almost as if he was blind. after that match i expect Timo to get back his starting place or Valencia will end up chasing a lot of games. Almeria are a strong side but Valencia should not have conceded the way they did. Emery definitely has to rethink who he starts on the left. Joaquin is not suited for that side and Mata seems not to be suited to playing behind Villa, Vicente coming back should give Emery options on who should play on the left or behind Villa.

I agree, although not ectastic, I'm satisfied with a draw. We're in second place! Going against my Pamplonicas this Sunday, we should get another 3 points. Cesar and others, I appreciate you trying to find out where to get tickets. I really need to find some ASAP, as I can't really book my plane ticket until I know I can get tickets. So if you guys find a trustworthy, legitimate website that has tickets, please let me know. Thanks guys! Also, althought it's in April - months away - any good tidbits on the city and where to stay would be great. AMUNT.
