A Win is a Win

1254685445217_END0FF~1Ok i dont think anybody will disagree with me when i say that yesterdays match was far from pretty.

Our midfield was not fluid.

Our attack was lackluster.

Our wings fairly ineffective.

Our defense and goal tending however was vastly improved.

While i will say that Bruno is no substitute for Miguel on most days, he was sufficient on sunday. And David and Dealbert played well in the center for the most part. Matthieu was well not as great but did manage some very decent defensive plays that saved us from a near certain goal.

Is Emery listening to the fans ?

We complain that Alexis isnt playing well.. he doesnt play. We complain about Moya .. Cesar is in. Emery must be reading out blog hahaha.

Here are the highlights…. only a minute and a half of them. Yes the game was that lacking.

So what are the positives ?

Here is my list.
1254685445217_EN11F5~1
Cesar is great.

I think that last nights match has shown that our best keeper is still Cesar. yes he is older but he is also far more experienced than Moya.

He still makes splendid saves and and a much more solid defence.

Clearly he is in command of the back 4. The defence looks much better when he is behind them. Im not sure but it really does seem like Cesar communicates to his defense more, they dont seem to be caught unaware as often.

Isnt in nice to have a clean sheet once in a while.

Zigic scores goals

One thing about Zigic is his ball handling is poor.

He isnt fast.

If you pass to him it never comes back.

And yet the guy always seems to find the net. That is his talent. Being at the right place at the right time. He is now 2 for 2. Nearly every time he walks on the pitch he scores. Thats impressive for a guy who seems so awkward even walking. He really does have a gift when it comes to finding the net. He will prove invaluable if Villa’s injury proves lingering.

Spanish Women are Hot

Did you see the girls in the stands.. wa wa wi wah. They make me think naughty things. Ok the match wasnt that exciting clearly. hahaha.

So our next match is in 14 days.

Against…. sigh Barcelona.

Im not gonna lie. I beleive our chances of beating Barcelona are not great. They are undefeated and really looking good. But if there is one thing that Valencia have its class when it comes to playing Barcelona.

Last season Barcelona looked unbeatable, yet Valencia led 2-1 untill the 80th minute where a blunder by Cesar cost us the victory. Im just hoping that same team comes here and we show them a solid beautifull game.

Against Barcelona we can play the style of football we excel at. My main concern… will Villa be fit.

The tragedy of Sundays match was that Villa limped off and we wont know until later today how serious it is. Im hoping its not.. while Zigic is great and has shown he can score goals, he is no Villa. Lets all cross our fingers that he doesnt play for the Spanish national team against Armenia and gets 14 days of rest before facing Barcelona. If it isnt too serious he should be fit to play.

3 points and 5th place gentlemen. Sacrifice whatever goats and pray to whoever you pray to. We need a win against the Evil Barca Empire. :D

    @Nilton
Well, it doesn’t say that exactly. It’s a very tongue in cheek piece which made me chuckle.

    But yes, perhaps.

Basically the article is saying that Alzira will now be a place where miracles can happen, Villa entered the doctor’s office at 10 a.m. with a “muscular microfissure in the third of the right leg biceps with significant hematosis” but by 12 midday he was cured (”In the first xray there was a swollen area of about 1 cm or so, which is not evident in the second xray”. This is clearly the work of the local Bishop who has been praying for Villa’s recovery. :-)

The article then goes on saying that a “scumbag atheist” who doesn’t believe in miracles has explained how this can happen medically. Either (a) Candel wasn’t wearing glasses when he looked at the first xray, or (b) Candel wasn’t wearing them when he looked at the second xray. The “atheist” also added that Vicente wasn’t cured no matter whether Candel wore glasses or not. And furthemore, that miracles do not exist.

    * * * * *
A very funny piece. Basically, it’s not saying Villa will play, but just that the problem has “miraculously” disappeared. Whether or not Valencia will want to believe in miracles (and Candel) and risk Villa is another matter.

All I know is I saw Villa crumple up in pain in the middle of a match and ask to be subbed. And I agree, miracles like that can’t just happen. So something definitely doesn’t sound right….

Henry is apparently out. Ibrahimovic could play, from the initial reports.

Also, why wouldn’t Messi play? To make things easier for us? He is already back at Barca and will play in all likelyhood.

So we’ll just have to beat them the old fashioned way. By playing well.

Can’t wait til Saturday. Henry is out, Messi and Ibra should be fit to play. Villa is doubtful I would say (I wouldn’t bet on him playing). Marchena and Joaquin out. I hope Baraja and/or Fernandes can play.

Villa to come in off the bench in the 89th minute and score in the 94th to win the game 3-4 for Valencia. :)

It’s all about mind over matter. I watched a documentary on this guy who the doctors said would never walk again, but he said “I will walk again” and he forced his body to walk. Villa is the same. He is telling his body to fight.

Nooooooo! Pizarro is a greedy bugger! He left Bayern Munich to go to Chelsea when he wouldn’t accept a new contract extension because he said the pay was too low (too low! he was already coining it in, plus all the various sponsorships). Rummenigge kicked him out in the end, famously saying “Anyone wishing to earn as much as Shevchenko had better start playing like Shevchenko” – a quote which has gone down in the annals of football lore. He then got moody at Chelsea because he wasn’t playing as much. No, he needs to be a big fish in a small pond like Bremen, we don’t need him at Valencia.

Pizarro would be the worst signing you could do. I do not even think that he was a sub during his time with Chelsea.

No,I say you need a young up-coming striker. Someone between 20 to 23 that is still trying to show what he is worth for. Like this, he would not usurp Villa’s place ad everybody would say:”Do not sell him, he is our new Villa!”

As much as I would have like to see Negrado, he would have unbalanced the team’s collective. As we are speaking, I wonder how h does at Sevilla. Him alongside Fabiano is a merciless duo. However, I recall they have someone called Kanouté and I do remember that Negrado stated he wanted to play regularly…

Nope, someone in the making would be great. When Villa would be past his prime around, let’s say 32, ten 4 years would have passed and your up-coming taent of 20 years old would have become 24 years old which is te perfect time to leave him handle the heat. Then, with Mata that would be around his age, Silva at approximatively 27 and Pablo at 28, the attacking quarter would be one of the most lethal of La Ligua.
