Koeman Has Job Offers? WHY?

By: Cesar | April 25th, 2008

koeman.JPGI wrote earlier today about my hopes for this weekend. But this news item jumped out at me and I had to say something about it …

Supposedly, ex-coach Ronald Koeman has a multitude of job offers since being canned by Valencia earlier this week …

Now, Koeman is in the past. And I’ll be quiet about the Dutchman after this post. But really … why does Koeman have job offers? Who are the clubs that are gluttons for punishment that want to be relegated by hiring this guy?

People realize what he did at Valencia, right?

People know they’re getting a bad coach, not a good free kick taker from the early ’90’s, right??

Maybe they think they’re getting this guy, not the muppet who left us 2 points above relegation.

Anyways, his agent Ger Lagendijk states that he’s received no less than six job offers for Koeman since the former Vitesse, Ajax and Benfica boss was shown the door. “The offers are streaming in,” he told the website of Voetbal International magazine.

“Since Ronald was dismissed by Valencia five clubs and one national football association have come knocking on my door. It’s of no importance revealing their identity at this stage.”

But Lagendijk insisted that his client would not go back to action straight away. “Ronald has clearly indicated that he would first like to rest for a few months before he starts something new. Until then, he’s more likely to be seen on a golf course.”

So what are these phantom clubs that want him?

- Levante: They’re pretty much relegated. He could help ease their transition to the Segunda by leaving all the striking players on the bench a la the Trio.

- Derby: One win in 35 Premier League games. Sounds about right.

- Montserrat: They’re looking for a new coach now that they’re out of 2010 World Cup contention.

- Reggina: Their -23 goal difference would be bolstered by the big-boned defender …

You see where I’m going with this … why is this guy being offered job? By who???

Whatever … with that, the Koeman file is closed.

Damn I hate this dude. Left PSV cause he got a bigger paycheck at Valencia.. It’s always about the money for him. Can’t buy good players (as was evident when he was coach at Ajax and PSV) succeeded there cause of the coaches before him who build a great squad..

hi people, how are you all, i havnt been able to check out the blog cz my granfather past away and i was very busy with him in the hospital and after that and everything and i am in a very bad mood for a long time! i read some of the comments on the previous pages ceasar have wrote… i see a lot of people think i hat ealbelda cuz he cried. and thts not the case! i thik a leader or a captain shouldn’t cry infron of the cameras cz he should be the vertebrate or the back-bone of the team, i know he didnt’ cry when he was playing for the team but a player tht has tht thing in him is not a captain tyoe! and i would like to tell all the people tht critized C. ROnaldo to simply stop lieng to them-selves… C.ronaldo is a legand and only a stupid person would compare a below average player with a perfect player like C.ronaldo. and every bdy who critisized him is envying him and i am sure tht who ever did would love to have him to any team he cheers for! YOu think albelda is a legand and a great player, i think hes a shitty player tht doesnt deserve to play football! thts is how i see him and will always! you keep you viw and i keep mine of him! hi cheap princess! nice nik ( 21st of august )

Ali, my condolences. I never ever said C Ronaldo was a bad player–far from it. He’s the best player in the world–so much talent. It pains me to say it, but it’s true. However, he’s a bitch on the pitch–excuse the rhyme scheme. He cries after every brush in with defenders, that and the fact that he’s a primadonna makes me dislike him. Skill-wise there is no comparison right now–and certainly not Albelda. David is a legend though, if only for his tenacity, leadership, and dedication to one club–our beloved Valencia. And for that, I raise a glass to him. Regarding the previous post–i.e. this weekend’s game–Cesar is correct, I have a soft spot for my Pamplonicas, having lived there. So this weekend’s game, as is the case every time they play eachother, will be a little weird for me. Be that as it may, I will cheer on a Valencia victory. I dunno about cheer on, as the game is not televised again because of the stellar GolTV management (see earlier angry post), but I do wish for a Che W. A draw–to give both my squads a point–along with losses by Huelva, Zaragoza, and Valladolid wouldn’t be bad either. Bottom line: if either Valencia or Osasuna get relegated, I will be depressed for the next year or so. AMUNT VALENCIA Y AUPA OSASUNA!

Koeman won a cup in 6 months. About half the starting 11 were under 25 years old. That counts for something in some places…

If we lose were dead im seriously worried i think were all feeling a little bit too optismistic because Voro has come in, the team will either respond and win in the right way or at least give it all to the cause, however valencia have had too many false starts this season so im desperately hoping we will push on and win but i can’t help thinking if we lose that we will free-fall into segunda, if valencia stay up im going over as much as possible next season to watch them live because im convinced if we stay up we’ll defintly challenge next season. Cesar i don’t share your optimism over signing Guiza i keep thinking of Salva Ballesta and my high hopes when he signed(yes we won the liga but he flopped). Does anything think we should resign Ricardo Olivera?? I knew as soon as Ranieri sold him it was a mistake he has that Brazilian flare up front that we lack, we haven’t been linked with him but i think he would be a great signing any thoughts????

I’m positive about Sunday’s game against Osasuna, I feel like I just woke from a big nightmare… The team is happy about koeman’s departure and I think that’s really important. Lets be confident, Im almost sure we are going to stay in la liga, next year; the other teams better watch out for us… Amunt!

Game is in the bag Joaquin finally scored, So cani kept a clean sheet in his first game back, im happy. I really think Mata was a great signing especially in terms of the Copa del rey. If we beat Barca we should defintly stay up, Amunt Valencia.

WE’VE DONE IT AND WE ARE ON THE ROAD BACK.
SHAME IT WAS MARRED BY A SENDING OFF, BUT REMEMBER WE HAD TWO SENT OFF IN OUR FIRST MATCH OF THE SEASON AGAINST SEVILLE, SO WE’VE GOT 3 POINTS BACK.

Probably best of the best matches of the season (which are few) in terms of good feeling about the team and no cable, no stream, nothing.

Anyway good reading stuff guys. I’ m so happy. This match will be morale booster for our boys I hope.
